I loved my Merc, but those damn decals on a black hood didn't last but a season.
Sitting in the sun in a boat basin for the Summer did them in. Peeled off like you took a heat gun to them.
Weren't too many Mercs with intact decals in there.
(I liked it better without them anyways)

Back at the Yard for Lunch. Just edited the Fahrenheit and Pan to upper case to match the Torque Converter on the Ultra-Gauge Transmission Temperatures.

As far as the coolant temperature goes, I’ve noticed that the 3.5 runs hotter than the 4.0 motor. The 3.5 has a 189* thermostat, and the 4.0 has a 180*.

My Friday is flying buy and it will be quitting time soon. The coast was quiet this morning as a lot of peeps are at the Firestone Grand Prix event. Enjoy the Day Folks!!

The town marina I was in has slips for small(up to 22 ft), medium(22-25 ft) and large boats.
Small and medium boats have the arms. No pilings required up front.
You step on the small platform and hop in. I had a larger platform before the one shown. I also had a friend weld an extension on the arms to get the lower unit out of the water.
Had a boat in there for 30 years and had zero issues with that setup.
Stern lines helped with any swinging in high winds. Again, I never had an issue.

sold the boat 2 years ago as i'm taking a hiatus from boating for a while. Had a boat of some sort since I was a kid. This boat was a Sea Ox 204D dual console with a 150 horse Opti. Perfect setup for chasing Stripers around here.
Had an open bow too and a windshield to hide behind.

Snowing. Got up this morning and no snow in forecast. Now snow for next 2 hours. Where the hell did I put my mojo. Oh there it is Thursday supposed to get up to 54°. Haven't seen 50's in 6 months. That is OK they will screw that up too.

The migratory bird stamp has been around since sometime in the 1930's when ducks were pretty much gone due to market hunting. But like many federal programs it over reaches. Someone found out that crows cross the Mexican border so now they fall under the migratory bird act. Don't have to get a stamp to hunt them, at least yet, but States now have to have a season on them because they fly across the border

Most States have a stamp on fish that they breed and stock and it is supposed to go into the stocking programming. But bottom line is yes, it is a tax. At one time Pa. was good about it and the money couldn't go into the general fund. Pretty sure that now like the other States it goes into the General fund. Same for pheasant stocking programs. Did I mention it is a tax?

Medical is the biggie for everyone, even if they don't know it now. I have seen a number of people go back to work just to get Medicare supplementary insurance. Once your 65 pretty much every plan out there switches to Medicare including the military Tricare. And Medicare sucks. On both sides of the program. With the changes in healthcare from the previous administration all Medical facilities had to cut staff by 20% on average just to keep the lights on. And keep the same or greater workload. The little things that they don't tell you in the nightly news...

The joys of being salary, hard to tell work week because I often work weekends and am on call rotation. And 12-14 hour days are not uncommon. I could subtract PTO because I guard it closely and bank as much as I can and try to only use it for bird hunting anymore.

But not sure of retirement data anymore so guess it doesn't matter. Have had Mil pension for 20 years now. Really need pension for where I work on top of it. And Social Security. But they all seem to be a moving target. Medical expenses play a role in that even if they aren't directly my expenses. Shooting for 65 right now and that is 5 years away. But have a feeling that will turn into 67 right before I reach for the brass ring. So I just keep going to work.

I have a Troy Bilt too, at the time the biggest one they made. They stopped doing HP measurements and now use cc mine is 357cc. Chute mechanism on mine broke a couple of months ago. Right now using a 1x2 about 3' long with a hole drilled in the end and wire wrapped to the chute to move it LOL. You come up with something be very interested in doing the same!

Just about time to start my slim Jim mix.
    95% ground beef
    Shredded 3 cheese combo
    Hickory marinade
    Sliced and Diced pepperoni

    Mix well.
    Sit in marinade overnight.
Dehydrate for 7 to 9 hours.
