Anyone know what happened with defconbrix's taco?

He posted up that he was selling a limited number of patches that were raffle tickets sans details of how to purchase. That was a while ago but it doesn't look like anything happened.

    Never enough
Since I got my teardrop a couple months ago I’ve done a lot.

Fabricated and mounted a rack on the roof to hold an RTT and future awning.

Installed a carbon monoxide detector as a backup to the one integral to the Mr. Buddy heater so we don’t die.

New safety chains that are long enough for the lifted taco. (Thanks @thefatkid)

Converted the electrical from 4-pin to 7-pin to allow for charging a battery in the tongue box and reverse lights.

Cleaned up the wiring from the previous owner so it doesn’t leave me stranded on the side of the road.

Added a deep cycle battery, 120V receptacles in the tongue box and in the trailer, shore power connection point, inverter, 12V plugs on the interior and exterior, and LED interior lighting.

This thing is finally roadworthy and ready for our trip to Death Valley at the end of the month! The only thing I still want to do sometime soon is fabricate some new fenders/side steps to allow for 33s to match the truck. Here’s a picture of the trailer the day I got it, I’ll post a “now” picture tomorrow when it’s light out.

To those of you that own Alcan springs, do you know if the standard u-bolt flip kits out there are compatible with them?

No reason they wouldn't be. Springs are the same width, so the only difference would be the thickness of the packs. Usually the flip kits come with overly long bolts that you have to cut down.

Probably a bit late but the trail is easy. And i think it's completely dry according to some pictures i saw of the trail.

    https://www.trailsoffroad.com/trails/474-switzerland-trail

Here's a map and trail info about connecting trails. Also a link to more about the history of the trail if you're interested.

Trail was pretty easy. There were a few snow packed areas that were rutted out. Only saw 3 or 4 other vehicles on the trail. About half way through there was a sign that said “rough road, proceed at your own risk” but there was no “rough road”. Thanks for the recommendation, Wifey and kids loved it! What’s another trail that’s a step up from this one as far as difficulty goes?

Awesome, glad i could help. There are a few offshoots from that trail. You could try some easier stuff off Bunce school road i think it's open at one end?

If you use the search feature on trailsoffroad.com you can search by distance and difficulty along with a bunch of other criteria.

I don't think there's much more up there that would be open during the winter. Front range stuff, you've got some stuff around Yankee Hill and then down near Rampart. But you'll be able to pull up all those on the website.
