How do i removethe rrim piece below the radio?

I tried taking this off when i installed my tv but no luck, im talking about the piece with the two 12v recepticles in it.

 

c'mon, no one knows?

I know nothing about 2nd gens, but my first gen had the 12v supplies in a plastic trim peice that met the floor. On each side there were a single plastic fasteners this nail had a circular center that had to be pushed in. when it was pushed in, the whole thing was able to slide out of the trim, therefore releasing the plastic trim peice.
Sorry, if it's totally different, but it was worth a shot (if those plastic fasteners exist). I spent about ten minutes before I realize how to remove that plastic trim.

Hopefully a 2nd gen guy (or gal) knows

 

Use a skinny flat tip and wrap it lightly in tape. Insert it inbetween the center console and bottom lip of the AC controls and pry it out gently. When the clips disengage, you should be able to pull it out, easy as pie

I've taken mine off a few times, here's what needs to be done; Remove the climate control panel (unsnaps) Remove the radio. Remove the radio bezel trim (around the center vents). Remove Passenger glove box. Remove drivers kick panel. Remove upper lower center console. This job is the biggest PITA because you have to pretty much rip out the whole dash. Take your time, there is a few bolts but mostly just snaps.

 

the problem i had is that the vents to the right of the dash didn't want to pull off.

 

it just unsnaps, Carefully pull the vent assembly outwards (Remove the radio/climate control assy first (4 Bolts)!

 

You have to remove the black part of the dash that is around the gauges. The radio bezel snaps under the black dash piece.
