1st Gen AUTO shift knobs/handles

Are there ANY custom handles for AUTOMATIC 1st Gen knobs/handles? I can't seem to find anything that will work. My 04 has that button on the side for over drive. Anything fit?

 

i've been on the lookout for something to replace that big phallus of a shift handle for years now. ....i've found nothing.


could someone explain to me why toyota felt the need to have such a huge handle sticking up from the console? ...it gets in the way all the time.

 

I dunno, my dad has an 01 Taco, and it is auto, don't like it at all. I prefer the newer automatics in the newer tacos. I wish that I could make shifter knobs for those like you both have. I kinda like the stock auto levers, I have not driven one though.

no thanks ....my previous taco was a 5 speed. i got rid of it so i could get an auto with 4 doors.

the 5 speed is ok ..but it's notchy as hell and isn't prefered for off-road. ....and it also got in the way of the ash tray and radio. (i also live in atlanta ...auto is the only way to fly)

 

I agree. I hate manuals no matter where I live.

 

I've been told my `04 auto shift knob looks like an uncircimsized penis so I'm trying to find another... I've found a shift know but I dont think it will fit cuz the shape of the rod the knob is connected to...

 

I've had my 2002 auto since new and never once worried about the shift knob.

This was the only thing the I didnt care for on these trucks when I was looking for mine.
But I got use to it I geuss....

 

I'm not a huge fan of the shift knob, but i can live with it. If theres a direct replacement that still allows the O/D to work then id get one

 

worried? hardly! ....confused as to why it was designed that way? ..absolutely!


also, if it were half the size it probably wouldn't rattle around so damn much.
