Thinking about Lift kits

I was looking into a 4” lift kit. I have rough country in my mind. What do you guys think,I aint trying to go high or spend a lot just something i could afford

Keep in mind that with a 4" lift, the stock tires will look really small. So besides the lift, there's another grand to spend on tires....

Rough country is called rough country for a reason that is a teeth chattering ride. A friend of mine has it on his Tacoma and I won’t ride it anymore.

 

Not to thread-jack but I have a similar situation.
I want to lift my TRD Sport about an inch to an inch and a half, and level it. I know nothing about what I need (coil overs, shocks, both?).
I'm really just going for looks, it's not a 4x4.

Anyone know a good thread where I can educate myself?

 

Thank you for the recommendation @SteelerJim . The tallest spacer we offer is a 2.5". We try not to get into the taller spacer lifts and do not carry Rough Country. However we can definitely help with a 3" suspension lift or a drop bracket kit.

@HeadStrong Off-Road makes a 1/2" top plate spacer that will give you 1" of lift on the front. Will get you close to level for just a few $$$. Will keep your stock ride and it can be installed pretty easily right in your garage. Don't let these folks on here tell ya that ya need to spend thousands to do what YOU wanna do. Ya don't... If it wasn't a quality product, @HeadStrong Off-Road wouldn't carry it. Here is the link... And here is a pic of my truck with the 1" Rough Country top plate spacer and a 1" block in the rear. Still just a slight nose down rake, which I wanted to keep. Remember that if you do a spacer, ONLY get one that mounts on TOP of the strut assembly. Otherwise 1) it requires disassembly of your strut which only an auto mechanics shop can do safely, and 2) because it goes inside the strut assembly it will compress the spring which pre-loads it and causes a much harsher/stiffer ride.

OP I wouldn't go more than 3" unless you're thoroughly convinced you need to or have the budget. From my understanding, once you go over three inches you really have to start swapping things out, extending brake lines, etc.
