No need for this but I did notice that my striker on my hood is corroding slightly after hitting the latch over and over. Anybody else noticed this?

Ever since an incident involving the front of my truck the hood flutters when I get to highway speeds...

But to be honest the incident(s) occurred so soon after I got the truck that I am not sure if it happened before, I only noticed it on a long drive recently. Kind of scary feels like it might whip up and bust the windshield open.

Does anyone have a bug visor? My truck came with one installed and I am wondering if the aerodynamic qualities of it cause the rest of the hood to shudder? I am interested in getting those AeroCatch Xtremes but like @ChadsPride I am also afraid to install them... :(

my 2012 has had the same issue with the hood flutter. a few months back it was so bad that i pulled over on i5 here in cali because i was waiting for the hood to fly open lol. everything is tight, latch seems fine. but i will definitely be looking into these now

I have the aerotech ones that the OP originally asked about. Reason why I went this route is I have a glass hood on mine and it was designed to not use the factory latch due to long term fatigue issues the hood would have with fast driving apps. I do like the hood pins as they are a clean and unique looking appearance, but my hood still flutters when I drive although that is likely due to the fact that I have a functional hood scoop.

I’m surprised that yours would flutter at that speed. Are there any custom elements or imperfections on your front end? I have a 2012, but when they modeled up my hood they did it based off the earlier 2007 hood which has a bigger hood scoop. Because of this, I don’t think it aerodynamically works as well as the lower scoop that was designed when they made the newer style that mine is. I probably wouldn’t see much flutter though if my hood scoop was a faux one like the factory ones are and didn’t have the cavity.

My VIS hood, despite latched, flexes and bows with the pressure changes at speed. Just not at the front corners any more.

Being more flexible than the steel hood, those amplified corner flutters were concerning.

Mine too has a functional scoop, with added venting slots at the rear, near the windshield cowl.

I’ve only ever noticed my hood fluttering once, top of a bridge on a really windy day going 140kmh.
