Ok so here's whats happening, the turn into the road i live on (I am the only house on it, it is a access road to a reservoir) has a 2 foot wide rain channel so its like I drive over 2 speed bumps when I make the turn.

When I go over it (I am turning) the truck bounces from side to side. If I am going above 15 MPH I get a series of beeps (beep, beep, beep).
Since the wheel is turned I cannot see if any lights come on.

    any ideas?

The traction control is kicking in, one of your tires is loosing traction and spinning
once it starts to spin the traction control kicks in, and you get to enjoy the beeping!

Beeping is the VSC stability (not traction control) function.

hmm... Thanks for the input, that is what I thought it was.

Would getting the TSB done for the rear end help reduce the rocking, and thus allowing me to make this trun at a normal speed?

The speed on the both roads are 45 (I know I need to reduce speed below 45 to make the turn, but dropping to below 15 seems a bit much).

Would I need to anything more like upgrade the shocks or something to amke things a bit stiffer?

It beeps and a light flashes to let you know the VSC is doing what it can to keep you from spinning off the road and rolling over! IT WORKS, but it beeps to let you know to say 'thank you' for saving you and your truck! LOL

When you do some more serious off roading in sand or mud and fishtail a lot, it will really be beeping you to death... If you don't need the enhanced traction of TRAC to keep from getting stuck, then STOP and HOLD down the VSC OFF switch for 3+ seconds until you get the VSC OFF indicator light... You now will be in good old fashion open differential mode... VSC stays off, unless you do something that could cause the truck to go out of control... then it will come on to save you!

If anything the TSB would make the rear end more rigid thus hop easier. The problem isn't as much the rocking, but rather the combination of a light rear end and an unboxed ladder frame.

I think I will try adding some weight to the rear, see if that helps.
starting with 100lbs and go up or down from there depending on the affect.

so my truck is doing the beeping thing bad! also i get a grinding feeling sometimes from the right front (at least that is what it feels like) anyway i held down the button that shows a truck sliding and the light on the dash came on. i drove all the way to the coast (crappy road) no problem then i had to turn on a steep hill as so i was at an awkward angle anyway it beeped and i got the grinding sound and feeling anyway so it that normal even with it off or are there two different things going on?

Yea similar thing happened to me. I was in the snow a few weeks ago and was driving down a pretty steep grade driveway and the beeps came on out of no where until I got off the incline then it stopped.

I find the VSC is WAY too sensitive. I often have it kick in just pulling into the driveway when it's icy outside, or going around corners on wet pavement at speeds where it SHOULDN'T kick in. Weight in the bed helps, but it's still too sensitive in my opinion.

and you guys know the fix for it, right? Pull the 30 amp fuse for it. I think the fuse may say ABS on it or something, it will be a pink fuse. I did it and it completely disables all traction control and ABS, etc.

The grinding noise / feeling is the brakes being applied , that's how the system works , it applies braking to the tire it deems to be over - rotating in an effort to straighten out the truck . It is actually coming from the rear but you may feel it in your feet through the pedals .

You might find some help here , http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/suspension/41215-lift-vsc-answer.html , you can get the skid control ecu re-calibrated or zeroed post lift , it has helped many members .

This only makes sense if you want to disable ABS and you're off-roading. It would be ill-advised for street/highway driving.

The snow will make your tires skid sideways and VSC will activate. I'd recommend turning off VSC when driving in snow or drive slower.

If you corner hard, VSC will activate, especially if you drive aggressively. If you drive conservativly and its going off then you need to visit the dealer for a VSC recalibration.

Drive slower around the corners and VSC will not activate. Also, you can disable it each time you start your vehicle using the procedure whippersnapper02 stated in his post. He was correct.

If you drive on the highway you should have VSC on. It can save your life in the event of an emergency.

If anyone had done anything to their truck to warrant a front alignment adjustment, then recalibrating VSC would be in order.

Interesting. I know that if my truck is on an incline with the nose in the air and it's stopped and I let off the brake and don't push the accelerator and the truck begins to roll backwards, the VSC buzzer will sound (even though its not VSC being activated).

With regards to beeping, the only other thing I can think of right now is if the truck was trying to shift into 4L and the truck was not in neutral or something.

Did you ever figure out what it was?

It makes sense if you don't little electronic nannies intruding upon your driving. For those that can actually drive a vehicle, the nannies are actually more of a hindrance. It wouldn't hurt anything on the street to not have it ifffff people would drive within their limits.

On another note, if you drive gravel roads alot the nannies can actually be dangerous. There has been more than one time that it has thought I was sliding in danger. In all actuality, I was taking curve on a normal gravel road at normal speeds. The way it works, it would send me straight toward the ditch. Yeah, that just isn't safe.
