It's a composite bed. You won't find rust or dents under the wood.

Only if the bed had been 'broken' by something and the wood liner covered that/kept the bed functional would there be a problem.

My guess is that the owner built that to protect it from scuffs and such. Whether he hauled rough things like firewood and gravel regularly, or was just obsessive, either way, the buyer comes out the winner with this.

Just remove the liner and look. And let him keep the liner.

Go long bed or go home. :D

Just tell them you want the wood ripped off before you sign to buy. I’m surprised the dealer hasn’t done that yet.

Just a heads up, looks like you dont have the tie down rails in the bed since the original owner probably got rid of them when he put the wood in. You kinda want those if you need to secure things.

Also looks like previous owner secured the wood via drilling directly into the bed, probably not a big deal though.

If you really want the truck, tell them you want them and you will sign on the dotted line.

I asked if the previous owner included bed rails when he sold it. He's checking for me.

Going to look at it on Saturday!

Really appreciate all the help everyone. Can't believe I'm finally making moves after 2+ years of dreaming

Edit: Anything I should look for when I get there? Is there a thread of things to look for when getting a Tacoma (frame rust etc)? Haven't really researched that part yet

Yeah just check the frame. Sure its fine. Ask for maintenance records. If you have the VIN you can see if they uploaded maintenance records to the Toyota site. I would definitely check carfax as well. Few members on here can help you out.

Jordy hasn’t been the same since the ACL tear. That combined with the fact that he never gets thrown to anymore... I think him going to another team is going to mean more play time for him.

I’m not thrilled about Graham because #1 hate Seattle... but #2 not sure he’s going to be better than Jordy.

    We will see though.

I’ve seen so many great players leave the team the last few years. Sad to see Jordy go.

If Randall Cobb leaves...I’ll lose it.

I’m down for replacing A-Rod though.

    Thread jack..

Graham is not even really a Seahawk though. He was setting records with the saints, they bring him up here and he doesn't do shit..

He's really tall, he can catch with one hand and push dudes away with the other! He did have a bunch of dropped passes..:anonymous:

Sort of a noob question since this is my first time buying a used truck worth this much money...

Is there any kind of warranty with tacomas? I imagine the 3 year / 30,000 mile warranty is up. But I was wondering if I should be looking for anything else

    Thanks!

Everyone will want to sell you some aftermarket warranty.

    Don't fall for it.

Just build your own repair fund (warranty type items, not wear and maintenance) seeding it with the cost of the warranty.

I bought my 2012 with 30,000 miles in 2015 for $32,000. The truck was in pristine shape and probably never saw a dirt rode. No regrets 80,000 miles later cause good Tacoma’s are hard to find.
