I hate the entune map system, I put my money into a nice phone mount. I will not pay a dime more into it.

Save the money and invest in a phone mirroring system instead so you can use apple maps

Awesome. I'm definitely in as soon as my warranty runs out. I really dislike entune and the map/nav feature leaves way too much to be desired. I use my phone for all navigation.

It will show some engine information if you get the right system to read it. For instance, Pioneer or Kenwood both work with the iDatalink Maestro RR which pulls a lot of that info and display it for you. I'm not sure about transmission temps specifically, but it does show engine temps, throttle position, speed, tire pressure readings to name a few.

You could also get that same info on your phone. I have a OBD II to bluetooth dongle that my phone connects to. With that connected, I can read the info with the appropriate app such as DashCommand.

I've had a Garmin GPS for many years., and as long as it is updated it will take me where I want to go. If traveling cross country I always double check directions with ipad or smart phone.

Yes there is a bypass switch that you can engage. But I always leave mine on. I have the rear camera and it works fine. I don’t know about adding it.

So when I got my truck back from the dealer they told me there was pretty much nothing they could do. They did a system update (they said only they could get to it) and other than that it could be a sting of things hat could have lead to that. 1. The beats sonic override switch 2. The speedometer calibrator 3. Or the JL sound system that’s throughout the whole truck.

Yup, our Garmin nüvi 1350 beats the crap out of Entune for accuracy and cost. Got Garmin maps for life on the cheap at time of purchase. Agree with the double check on multiple devices for extended journeys.

The only reason I haven't pulled the trigger on a new unit is the Entune map works when you don't have cell service. I'd love to switch over to a Carplay unit but when I'm out in the middle of the mountains with no service, it's nice to use the Entune unit to see country roads.

We were out in Arizona on the backroads and I wasn't paying attention and missed a turn. Google maps on my phone had no clue but the built-in navigation took over and got me back on track. I prefer google maps but it's really nice to have a back-up plan that works!

My local Toyota customer advocate bold face lied to me about GPS updates said they are done when vehicle comes in for service! I went to service department today and asked. My 2018 Tacoma I was told needs an update about every two years and they charge $300 to update it!

In case it hasn't been said 400 times already, Entune, especially nav, is complete shit.

Hay all you experts? I just watched a bunch of youtube and went through my radio in my 2018 and the (Vehicle) icon is greyed out. How do I enable it with out screwing things up?

    Thanks
