Had the truck in for an alignment at toyota, the tech took me to the back and showed me why he could not align it. The Eecentric tabs are flat. There head master tech said he would take the lcas off and weld a bead behind the old tabs to hold them in the correct possition and re align it for 550$. Is this a good option? I dont have any experience welding or access to one. I looked into the TC gusset kit but the amount of work required to install those would majorly increase price to install. What do you guys think about 550$ ?

If you can find a local welder I'm sure they could do it for a hell of a lot less than that. You don't even need to take off the LCAs.

Just take off the front wheels and bend the tabs back into place then put a bead behind them.

I've done it on a 3rd gen and it was straight forward and simple, probably less than an hour of work.

I was told the arms have to come off so the bushings are not melted?

Ha! $550 is stupid. You can easily do it while on the truck. Just do small beads so the rubber doesn't get overheated. Bend the back the weld the backside of them. IDK where you're located but I'll do it for you for free if you're in N. Texas.

An '07 in Michigan? Do the cam bolts even turn? Unless somebody's worked on it, they surely must be rusted solid.

$550 is absurd for that. An alignment is maybe $100, so they want to charge $450 to remove the LCAs and lay a few beads of weld. Removing the LCA is literally 5 bolts and it comes right off. I had my front end taken apart, old tabs removed, total chaos ones welded on and put back together in about two hours for reference.

If you do decide to do the TC cam tabs, get a $13 air chisel from harbor freight. Between that and an angle grinder I had them off in 30 minutes.

The truck can be aligned with those tabs flat. Mine was done mutiple times like that before the TC tabs. Not at the dealer. I rarely have anyone work on my rigs, but I certainly wouldn’t go to a dealer. For anything. Ever.

For $550, you can pay a shop to put the TC tabs on for you most likely.

I would do it myself if i had a welder and actually knew how to use it lol, thats the one skill ive never had the opportunity to learn. All the smaller shops other than the dealer are closed untill monday so ill have to wait untill then, I figured that 550$ was a crap load of money for removing lowers which is easy as ive done it before and weld a few beads on the tabs and realign

I welded a bead down all of my tabs. I didn’t take the lower control arm off and didn’t melt the bushing. I did have to take the bolt out of the one tab that was bent over so I could bend it back

Find a muffler shop to do the tabs then an alignment shop for alignement. I get alignments here by a tech who knows his shit, will put it at the numbers I request and only charges $80 using a new high-end Hunter machine.

Do the tabs need to be set at a certain point or angle or just pop them back up and weld?

the eccentric bolts need to fit tight. you can bend a little more are a little less. The bolts just need to be tight in between them
