I was thinking about buying the MAXTRAC 6.5" lift kit and it comes with a 4" spindle and strut spacers. I was wondering if I should buy some of the Rough Country 6" lift N2.0 struts? Also when a shock says it has got a 3.5-5" lift does it mean it lifts the rear or if its made for that size lift?

Call Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road and ask for the ChadsPride kit

You wont want to run the spacers up front. But a better option would be a taller coil to achieve the 6"

And no, if the rear shocks say that....it means they are to be used with that much lift (Dakar leaf springs will lift the back)

    Welcome to TW!

Marie will help answer your questions, but to get started you should meander on over to the suspension area where we have plenty of stickies made from members over the year to help explain lifts to new members on here. If anything, it will help you build vocab, but hopefully you will learn a thing or two about the different types of lifts.

Welcome, a good way to get the full 6.5” of lift youre looking for, without sacrificing ride quality, is to pair the maxtracs with some bilstein 5100s (set on zero) and then a set of old man emu 887 springs. By setting the 5100s to zero, you are eliminating all preload and just using the springs to gain the extra 2.5” of lift in addition to the 4” maxtracs provide

I was asking if I should buy some Bilstein 5100 shocks for the rear or if there were some others you would recommend.

Oh ok. Yeah, you will piece together a kit with Marie.

What's nice about that is you won't have to use the crappy Maxtrac rear shocks.

Could always go with just the spindles and an add a leaf for super mega budget friendly lift.

Would leave the door open for future improvements while getting you a nice looking lift.

When I was first looking at this I was thinking about getting the maxtrac 6.5" lift kit and some Fox 2.0 with a reservoir shocks

When i first started looking for a lift i ordered rough country spacers. I did a little research and sent them back in favor of Bilstein 5100s. Now i am about to install a full ome lift and about to put the bilsteins up for sale. Moral of the story do your research and dont rush into a lift just to lift your truck. Ride quality over height.
