Was curious if anyone was succesful in running switches with the vimty harness? My goal would be to bypass the screen audio, av buttons/steering controls and just have seperate front and rear rocker switches for the cameras, to function with the oem screen. I've also read about the 3rd gen rear camera anytime mod with the diode, but wasn't sure to do this with the harness.. Anyone with first hand experience with any of this have any input, would be appreciated

Also does everyone else get the ebrake alarm when pressing the 5 button pad while driving?

I used the VIMTY-05 and the Inewcow logo camera.

iNewcow Car Front View Logo Embeded Camera For Toyota with CCD Waterproof IP67 Wide Degree (Middle) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00P2EN5J2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_CidPAbHENAJGN

The little bracelet that holds it to the logo is cheap so I just did a hand tighten it.

The first cable from the camera almost got to the cabin.

I ran it through the firewall where the main wiring was.

I ran the power and ground to the VIMTY-05. The 10 pin connector has accessory power and a ground. No need to power it when the truck is off. I connected the RCAs on the driver’s side because it was easier to reach.

The results were pretty good. The VIMTY-05 adds an A/V source. To activate the camera in motion, you select the A/V source and just hold the Seek Up button on the steering wheel for 5 seconds.

I am probably going to add an A/V switch and hook up the backup camera so I can switch between the two.

How did you override for the front camera/what did you have to tap into?

I did the diode for the rear, but not sure what do do for the front that is connected to the VIMTY for a switch?
