Kind of surprsed it's not already wired in. Why have a socket with a blank that's not powered. Weird.

I took the switch apart, and the two pins that aren't used are for the socket. Come on toyota

You should be able to install jumpers from the other dashlights to those two unused pins and it work also. Next time I take the dash apart I'll have to trace the harness back

you can definately do that, but I think why this guy made the kit was for even light distribution, IIRC it has 4 led's in there, one for each setting 2h 4h 2l and one for the arrow on the dial.
its a slick kit, fit was perfect, if you got one you would not be disappointed. no matter what, look at his instructions, he tells you where to tap into so that it comes on with the dash lights

I was looking for a swaybar disconnect for the Taco, and came across this
    https://www.jk-forum.com/articles/rubicon-manual-sway-bar-disconnects/
don't focus so much on what they are selling, but the new-ish rubicon's have electronic disconnect sway bars. Gets me thinking, perhaps we could adapt this to our trucks. too bad Rubicon's don't show up in junkyards often.

oh and this is on Dodge ram's too

I'll bench test it before I go through the hassle of running wires. I don't plan on having that Selector switch forever, if you know what I mean ;)

The trouble with electronics and Nova Scotia is water and salt spray. I know a couple Rubi guys who have deleted the electronic sway bars from their jeeps.

They don't make disconncts for tacomas like they do jeeps because the sway bar ends up hitting the CV joint and ripping the boot.

I came across telescopic links for a Hilux while I was on the search. They're really loud though.

I just ended up deleting my sway bar.

any of your buddies still have those sway bars? its super easy to convert from electric to manual, and I may know some one who'd want one for testing / friggin with :spy:

And the dark slowly crept in. Last year minutes seemed like hours once it got dark, this year it was much better!

Have you had any issues with getting the truck safety'd in NS?

Also, any interest in a cable operated ADD rather than the electronic one that comes on our trucks? I want the FJ/4Runner tcase swap in the truck, and if I am going full manual everything I might as well make the ADD manual as well.

What 4runner case bolts up? I haven't heard about that! I plan on going to a manual case at some point too!

And no, no issues getting safetied. My safety is up the end of April. Needed some balljoints and tires.

I guess they won't look for something that's not there!

The FJ and 4Runner manual cases are the same. It's in the 4Runner offroad package with the V6 engine.
