Colorado B.S. Thread

Got some work done on my trailer today. Hope to have it test ready in a few days. For anyone who hasn't seen the build yet.

I moved the axle forward an inch or so which helped with centering the wheels. Shocks arrived this afternoon, so I'll probably get to install those tomorrow.

 

Set on awesome. It's not the welder why my beads look like that. It's all me. Not very experianced with mig plus I also get a lot of anxiety when welding mig. I'm a stick welder. My welder sets it self for thickness of steel. Miller 215. I can always adjust it but it doesn’t need to. The settings work well where they are.

 

Reason I was asking is because a lot of them look really good, but a couple look like you say being nervous. I’m a welder from way back and it’s a fun hobby of mine. You look like you have a solid foundation, just need to take a deep breath, focus and start spooling. Trick I like to tell people with MIG is to be light on finger heavy on thumb loose on wrist and maintain singular motion.

 

That was our rental, we got plenty of letters from the HOA, fuck them. Our new home, zero HOA and it’s great

 

Colorado is a hot bed for testing vehicle platforms. Check out Tfl truck on YouTube out of Boulder. I work up in aspen Park area sometimes and see this kind of stuff parked all the time(saw the new frontier not long ago).

 

Being in the trades working with HOA is hell. My wife "we can afford this place, it has HOA fees". me never go full HOA.

 

The fees are only $300/mo, too!

 

Those weld looks strong enough to me! I only have a Millermatic 211 but I'm pretty impressed with how the autoset seems to work...that said I still prefer to set things manually where I can

 

I run manual settings at work. Every welder is different depending on wear and tear. So I’m cool with whatever works. Need a base line on where to start anyhow so I figure I just teach myself on the set settings. Corey (Insain Fab) ran my welder for a bit and after seeing what he was able to do with it on the set settings. I know it’s me not the welder.

 

Are only $300! That's crazy better be one of the communities where they cut and water your grass for you haha

I dunno, I thought you were always supposed to blame the tool if things went wrong

 

Did you clock the motor so the engaged/free spool lever is easier to access?

 

I avoided HOAs like the plague...no HOA here

 

Andy had it clocked to the top when installed, looks to be about as good as it gets.
