Figured I post here since a lot of first gen people are running 8.4 rear ends. Have a brand new Detroit locker 450$ and brand new gears 4.10 180$. Can pm if interested. Would like to keep it local.

It’s been done. I’d doubt they have a tw account. Cut the frame off at the firewall and make a new bulkhead.

But you gotta say to 4x4

For $10g's for solo's xlt vs whatever you gotta pay for a quality center mount, I'd stick w/ 4x4.

Anyone know where to find oem CV axles for “cheap”? I’ve heard aftermarket won’t work with the extended LT axle shafts

I ran into that issue when installing my LT kit. I bought a pair from a Toyota junk yard in la.

 

If you're going to center mount and keep 4x4 you might as well go all the way like this trophy truck with two engines - one for the front wheels and one for the rear - now that got me thinking about what I can do with my spare engine...
