Yes indeed. On a side note it looks like I missed the boat on smoked V1s this go around. Glad I snatched some ultimates last time they were available. Agreed on the “too much light”, the ultimate whites are blinding at night. Any way the ultimate designs could come in smoked? I like the look.

One time at the Dollar General picking up toiletries we donate to the nursing home my Mom is in, I happened to stumble across a LED light that was a USB with a flexi stem. It was a little long and I believe is designed for laptops at night, the kind without backlit key boards. Anyway, I bought one to play with this. I coiled it so that when it was plugged in it was pointed down on the console and also being coiled helped to keep it out of the way. I tried to just flex it out of the way but it was was weak and flopped around (whataya want for a buck) so coiling it and then taping it with electrical tape made it work. Then I added a tiny piece of a plastic shopping bag to the end and wrapped the head with electrical tape and made sure the led part was recessed so there was no glare. The bag helped make the light reddish. It's cheesy as hell but for a temporary, portable light, and at a buck, it was perfect.

This one looks like the new and improved deluxe version:

    https://www.rakuten.com/shop/drhotd...5fYqswCc7usYKVdzGzIP_sZ43k1TxSoRoCBVkQAvD_BwE

This is the one I bought for a dollar.

    https://www.officedepot.com/a/produ...yJQA98CJaOD5IsbLV5ty0m-Qpf8gyZFhoCciMQAvD_BwE

I like that newer one. I am sure you can find one that suits your needs.

This particular light probably isn't bright enough for cargo/bed lights. But they sell TONS of stuff. I have used a good handful of their products with with very good results.

These are a good weatherproof option
    https://www.oznium.com/linear-lights/ultra-thin-light-bar

I'm using 2 of these for my bed lights
    https://www.oznium.com/flexible-led-strips/diamond-led-strip

But they are not weather resistant

I have a tonneau and rarely need to get under it at night but when I get (if I ever get) to the end of my mods this would be something I would add.

Holy crap! I just remembered! I want to add ambient lighting inside my grill! I bet these would be perfect for that. I don't want too much.

Can't beat that price with a stick! Thanks! These are all great ideas. I suppose it is time to start thinking about switches and relays and such. No way do I want these on all the time. Just at night. Unless it doesn't matter......

Might not even have to do that. They only pull 40mA each, so you’re looking at .12 amps MAX. Just get an add-a-fuse and tap into a key’d fuse

White Ultimate dome for the win!

So much brighter inside. Waiting on my smoked V1 maps to arrive.

@mesojdm Installed my V1 maps today and one of the lights won't come one. Tried everything I know to get it to work. I made sure the connection is good inside of the bulb socket. Could be a bad LED maybe? Any suggestions?

Any chance you have a multimeter with continuity function to check if it has continuity. That could tell you if you have a bad bulb or not. Then I would check that the two metal posts on the plug are contacting the metal prongs on the car . Sometimes you have to bend the ones on the bulb connection.

You definitely tried rotating the bulb right? I had the same issue and once I figured out which was the right way it worked. Also, at first, the other one I turned the light out removing it and once I pushed up and switched it on it worked.
