Did the 90,000 service at the dealership on Saturday. Not preferred, but couldn't be helped this time around. Saved some money by opting to the spark plugs and air filters myself.

Today I replaced the engine air filter and cabin air filter with an aFe Pro-Dry S and a K&N, respectively. Also installed the brackets for the Red Line Tuning struts. Had to do a little jerry-rigging to add some extra support for the fender brackets. Will finish the install of the struts tomorrow.

In a sad turn, I discovered a lot more rust on my rack than I initially thought. :( Need to figure out the best way to fix this...

I’ll look into the ratchet system. I’ve looked long and hard at the fumoto but I just don’t trust it not popping open on some hot day while on the highway leaving me with a 10,000 dollar repair. Maybe I’m paranoid but still...

Picture from several days ago with a load of wood again.... but finally finished the project it was for just in time for the East Party!
Still not completely done with it. Few more cosmetic items and a few more boards to put on. But hey, it functions!

Just drilling through that stuff is interesting. It’s like a fiberglass or something. If I was doing more than a few small holes I’d wear a respirator as goggles. So if you have to cut a cubby hole, please keep that in mind.

What did you use for a clay bar and wax? I have a Super White as well and I have the Industrial Fall Out (little specks of rust) all over my truck. I picked up Chemical Guys clay bar and some of their Butter Wax. Going to get it done when the weather is finally good. Any tips?

I sliced my index finger open real good at work a few Weeks back. It surprisingly healed up pretty quick. If you look at my fingers top down, you can tell I took a chunk out, but other than that it’s back to normal. Good luck on the projects sorry about your finger. Keep it clean

I used a pretty basic clay kit (Mcquires) I got from OReillys.

I'd say just wash it real good. Then take your time with the clay.

Knead it in your hand then mold it to a flat roundish shape.

Use plenty of the detailing spray when claying or the clay will try to 'grab' the paint and leave marks.

It was a pretty simple process. Just follow the instructions and leave yourself enough time.

Not really something you want to rush and have to do it again.

    Edit:

This is what I used for waxing

Thanks. I appreciated the advice. Have you done it in the past? How long does it hold up? The IFO just really bothers me. Can't see it from a few feet away but up close it's really noticeable. I plan on off-roading quite a bit so it doesn't have to be perfect but I want it looking good for Spring.

I had never used clay before last weekend.

I understand what you mean about the stuff you can't see from far away....but up close it's there.

The clay will literally take care of all that stuff that doesn't come out of the paint with normal washing.

Pretty cool to see it come out when you pass the clay over it.

When the clay looks like it's getting dirty, just knead it a little bit and find a cleaner surface.

Necessary? I really do not know, but I figure it is cheap insurance people have posted their air pump did fail and it was a pretty penny to fix. Pulling out the stock foam filtee, I can see where it would not stop any major debris
