An unusually high amount of pinstriping.
This is tempting, I've thought about this tank before. There are times when a bigger tank would be nice but the biggest problem with this is the weight. The tank alone is 100 lbs, filled with 34 gallons of fuel your sitting just over 300 lbs. Compare that to the stock tank that's somewhere around 150 ish (I'm guessing at the weight of an empty tank) completely full. That being said for daily use you don't need to fill it all the way but the truck is already a little sluggish with 33" tiers when it's fully loaded.

    Not much, yet.
Any idea if I'd be able to use the same skid plate (Pelfreybilt) for the gas tank?

I'm going to guess no, but I don't know for sure. Most skid plates mount the same way that the stock plastic skid plate attaches. That being said the tank is a steal tank.

Welding: I also don't know much (anything) about fabricating, so I don't pretend to. I do know that not all pretty welds are strong and not all strong welds are pretty. And yes, TIG welding will generally be prettier than MIG.

I just ordered my "roof rack" and bought a Denver Outfitters roof top tent. Thanks or the lead @NorthwestCruiser

M3 is definitely more fuel efficient.

That is very true about the extra weight. I just put on the remaining mid and transfer case skids (1/4" steel) on my truck and even that extra 120lbs changed the way the truck drives. I think with all the extra weight on my truck I honestly need to re-gear a little - maybe 4.56.

I think you do lose a bit of ground clearance as the LRA tank hangs just a bit lower than stock but having that kind of range is appealing for people like me who aren't rock crawling or doing crazy stuff like @NorthwestCruiser, its an interesting option.

There's no need for a long range fuel tank, seriously be honest. no one here goes far enough into the woods for long enough to need it. Anywhere around here you can drop off a mountain and be in a town with gas in a couple of minutes. Nothing a couple of jerry cans or a rotopax can't handle. Same goes for out of state travel.

Gas cans are my preference. Way cheaper, still easy to use, and lets you place them wherever for weight distribution.

@GSPRunner The bars are all powder coated (black). Some quick measurements since I didn't want to take all the shipping packaging off....they are ~57" wide from mounting plate to mounting plate. Then the mounting bolt location is a small slot that goes from 1-1/4" to 1-3/4" down from the top of the bed rail
