Holy crap!!! You would have to, dare I even speak it??
You would have to manually lock the tailgate ?
The truck is an obvious piece of shit !!!
Pass on it and wait for what you really want !!

Good thing, manually lock it, it’s one less electronic item to take a shit in a few years.

If your somewhat mechanically inclined, spend $10-15 and DIY. I have a complete write up.
If your not, spend $100 on a pop n lock

I installed an actuator. Easy easy. I am not that mechanicly inclined. Best mod I have done. There is a thread on here somewhere. Cost about $20 and 1.5 hrs.

oh hell. I didn't know you could lock it manually. Heck im ok with that no problem. I thought by reading the adds that tailgate wouldn't lock at all. Never mind I am more than good with manual locking. i didn't think it locked at all without it. Hell i feel stupid.

one more quick question. it has the trd pro graphic stickers which something I sure wouldn't spend for but they are on it already. Not sure I will keep them and probably take off if I do decide I prefer I don't like it. Figure for what it cost id see if they grow on me If I then decide to get them removed down the road will it show on the truck where they were because that would suck.

Work the power tailgate into the purchase of your TRD Pro.

You can always have your dealer order a truck to fit your wants.

bought the truck and will pick it up Tuesday. It hadn't even went through getting ready. it had 2 miles on it and 32 after I test drove it. Cant wait. I was fine with key to lock tail gate . just wanted to lock to keep it from being stolen.

I think the Power Tailgate Lock is some sort of Port or Dealer Installed Option in the South only.

Congrats on the new truck. The power lock is pretty sweet if you ever get a tonneau cover or use your truck bed and have to access your tailgate often enough. You will figure out what suits you though. Good luck.

cool. I will ask dealer Monday if they can add it and cost if they can. As long as it is same remote that locks the doors.
