Welder, tube bender, and materials are going to almost be the same price if not more than what he's charging for a cage. Plus it's been installed by enough guys on here, you know it'll work guaranteed. I get the price thing. That's why there's no way $3k is going to be put into a cage on my truck

 

Oh yeah I definitely get where the cost is coming from. Tons of things go into play to get to that price point. I’d also trust it a lot more with lots of people using it. A good friend of mine manages a welding company, may be possible for him to make one, obviously no R&D behind it but would be considerably cheaper

Question, would the archive lower shock mounts work for any route I go?

 

LOL I have a lot of time (apparently) and no money (relative to some guys with major builds) to spend so I spend a lot of time on here reading. I've been in school since I've had either of my trucks so I'm always on the computer. Hopefully that will end this semester. I haven't had nearly enough time working on my truck.

Probably? Most lower shock mounts are weld on tabs that are pretty basic. Here's what Tim's look like:

Use both the DMZ spring perches and shock tabs together. His spring perch has an opening that allows you to weld one of the tabs inboard over the spring pack. This allows a vertical shock position and tire clearance.
I can take a photo later if you’re having a hard time imagining what I’m talking about.

 

This. Though saying this j think my perches are on backwards lol. So my inboard shock mount is half ground down to a straight edge so it could be welded to the front of the spring perch.

Everyone is going to set things up slightly different, so I wouldn't spend the extra money on the archive mounts since you're likely going to be modifying them anyways.

 

It's a nice bedcage and designed to work with his kit. The price is tough to swallow, especially for someone like me that has all the tools to build one. But time is money and when i was putting mine together I had limited garage time available, but knew of a 1 week window when I could have the truck down.

 

And after shortening bumps to 2" and doing a little tuning to the bypasses, I made a 60+mph pass through some whoops.

 

Anybody by chance have extra king 2.5 top coilover collars
