I have a 2009 DC tacoma and tonight my maint. req. light came on and stays on. I did not notice it blinking or going on and off when I started up.

Is this the oil change reminder??

    Not sure.......

I did have the transmission tsb done yesterday and wonder if they did something wrong??

    Thanks

If your truck now has 5000 miles, then yes, it is the oil change light.

Because it goes off based on mileage. You have to reset it when you change the oil.

Secondary Air Filter removal. More to come hopefully.
Kind of. The computer takes different outputs from the engine as in: avg operating temp, rpm's, idle time, etc, etc and then "computes" or formulates when your oil life is at (I think) 15-10% and then the light comes on and stays on......That's more or less the simple version. Some of the older Honda's and Caddies used to have mileage based systems, but I'm pretty sure that was phased out in the mid 90's. Hope this helps you understand it.

Yeah right. The computers in trucks are really powerful these days, not like the old systems based on mileage or anything simple like that.;)
