I believe if the battery dies in your fob, you can push the fob up against the start button for the truck to start. Not tested on my truck, but works on other keyless push start vehicles.

I dont have a gen 3. Just figured it would be nice to have a central location to make sure you check everything when buying a new one.

Push the button on the left side of the gauge cluster. It's on the glass.

Perhaps they don’t want people playing with their phones while driving

Great tread...has anyone noticed the following: When I am stopped, I can use the touch screen to make a phone call using my finger from my contact list. But when I start movinf, the contacts list as well as the Dial tab grey out and are not highlighted and so I cannot use the touch screen using my finger. Any info on this?

Also, the list says "Your headlights do not turn on when the windshield wipers are on." But if it is night and it is raining, you have to have headlights and windshield wiper on. I must be missing something here. Please clarify.

    Thanks for your assistance.

It's an intentional safety precaution meant to keep you focused on driving while the vehicle is moving.

It is a speed lock out. You can get an override cable here:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...e-navigation-override-smartphone-mirr.501617/

    Works stellar.

I do agree and do not use mine for complex inputs while moving (I barely use anything but BT and the front camera), but I found that it was frustrating and unsafe because it was difficult to tell if I was hitting a button correctly or it if was being locked out. Also for the front camera input to work at all, you need the override.

How many people are actually having the lack of grease on the u-joint issue? Even on the 2018s as well? What issues can this cause?

Or you can turn that annoying beeping off altogether.

Yes. That is how I have mine set. I can't remember if you do in Entune or Carista. Carista will definitely do it though.

I actually like it telling me that it is locking though.
I would love to turn off the seatbelt one but and I went to 3 dealerships and because it is mass law to wear seatbelts, nobody around here will shut it off. So I just bought the small extenders to eliminate it.

Such horseshit. Its mandatory in every state. I got the dealer in California (of all places!) to turn mine off. Its in the owners manual that you, the owner, can tell them to turn it off.

The lights still flash. Two for open, one for locked. Also, I can still hear the locks operate as I am walking away.

Carista can turn off the seat belt chimes. I have to pop my belt off so that I can see my mark to fit the Taco in my tight garage.
