    I will preface by saying I do not have any experience with trying to wire in new things such as this.

    I ordered the Shapeways 3 button insert and CH4x4 switches to wire in my front and rear camera override. The switches are backlit and need to be powered by something that's only on with the headlights.

    Is this going to be a task that requires experience to do it right? So far I've seen multiple people who have this set up but they had them wired in my professionals, should I look into this? I'm not wanting to spend a ton of money because I like learning how things work while I'm at it.

    Where can I find a wiring diagram to show what wires do what? I hate to be the uneducated but I'm really not sure where I can find what I'm looking for.

    Anyone here that's done what I'm attempting to do? There's a total of 4 switches and all are backlit and will need to be powered to something that turns on with headlights. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Anyone?

    Can I just tap into the fuse box for the power to light the switch?

    Also does the inline fuse go from my power source to the switch or the power to light the switch.

    As long as your using relays you can run 1 power and 1 ground without any problems

    Correct, and no, got to run a seprate wire to every relay. Here's a pic of one of my switch panels, as you can see power is run to the first switch and a seperate wire goes to each relay. The grounds are done the same way but you can't see them in the picture

    Just take your time and you'll be fine. I used the shapeways 3 button insert, but I put my light switches there. I put the rear camera and navigation anytime switches in the center switch panel. I used CH4x4 switches for everything.

    I tapped into an existing switch light wire for the lights on the switches. I used a Posi-Tap connector to do that. I been running them for several months and haven't had any problems.

    You can use any switch but here's a thread showing tapping into the dash light wire on the cargo light switch.

    It's not too bad, but it's time consuming if you want to keep it clean.

    Can you help me out and explain what you did in this photo? It looks like you've go them all wired together for power, back lighting and ground. Which is exactly what I'd like to do!!! Where do the orange and white wires go? Do they connect to items I want to power?

    I have the CH4X4 switches and shapeway panel to replace my crappy light bar and ditch light switches.

    I ended up putting all three reds together and using an add-a-fuse to the METER fuse. When I put the three together I added a fourth as the primary power wire. I then put all negative wires together and grounded to one of the bolts that hold that paneling on. So far it works great and the switches light up when the lights are on.

    Blue and white into top green and red of one switch, red and black into top green and red of the other.

    The bottom red and black of the CH4x4 are for illumination- easiest was is to tap the rear cargo as discussed.

    Thank you, that's what I assumed...just run a ground wire from the switch to a ground location?

    It depends how you circuit is set up. Do you have relays under the hood?
    Where do the blue and black wires go?

    If you are talking about the illumination side of the switch the easiest is to use posi-taps on the brown and green wires of the cargo switch;

    Yes, the wires run to a relay (actually several relays) which run to the light bar. I'm not worried about the illumination of the switch, I was probably going to tap the cargo light switch like you mentioned.

    This is the wiring harness I have. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OC3C40A/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    That harness takes care of the ground. You're only replacing the switches so;
