    Hey!

There are quite a bit if threads about this you'll find when searching. It has to do with the angle of the driveshaft after a lift has been installed. People refer to getting a carrier bearing drop, which can help in some instances or using a shim thats angled with a certain degree thats placed under the axle assembly.

    see here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/drive-line-vibration-after-3-lift-install.151949/

    This is just one example.

I had a light vibration on take off 15-20mph and a 1/4 spacer on the carrier bearing bolts worked perfectly.

From my research it really depends on the truck. You might need to do shims under the axle and not do the CB drop. I also went through 3 different sizes of carrier bearing drops until mine stopped vibrating. Keep searching the treads, there are some great info on this problem!

Well, I actually just went down to the hardware store and found "donut" shapes spacers made out of aluminum. They do sell actual kits specific to the CB drop for tacomas. But they are over priced in my opinion. So i opted for a couple bucks and it worked just as well. Now depending on the size of the CB spacer drop you might need longer bolts...I didn't need longer bolts with 1/4 spacer.

I'd make sure you don't have a bad u-joint first before you start changing prop shaft angles. Do your lift blocks have a taper to them?

Known Tacoma problem is the 2 piece driveshaft and rear springs too soft so as you accelerate hard the rear end wraps upwards changing the driveshaft angle. Aftermarket springs like Old Man Emu (OME) and a Tom Woods or other 1 piece driveshaft are the long-term fix and Toyota will give you a runaround forever.

If you have stock springs with blocks, most likely what you are feeling is axle wrap. It causes the pinion to get twisted up at take off, momentarily causing U joint angle problems. As soon as the torque from take off is relieved, the pinion returns to normal.

You can see the effects here: http://drivetrain.estoreseller.com/DanaCatalogs/j300-p9a.pdf

It happens with a stock truck, but blocks make the problem much worse. I would correct the spring issue before messing with the driveline. Best would be to lose the blocks and get real springs. There are anti-wrap devices too.

I've got OME springs with all the leaves. Still have a vibe. Thinking it's time for the double cardan drive shaft

I had a intermittent vibe, turned out to be a bad u joint. easy fix. I have the icon mini leaf pack with no carrier bearing drop and so far no vibes.
you could get rid of the blocks for a bit and see if the vibrations disappear.

I'm just talking about a real spring pack, like from Deaver, Dakar, etc. When I installed my All-Pro Expos, the beefy spring eliminated the axle wrap. My All-Pros have been outstanding, but All-Pro has had lots of issues with quality control, so I'm not suggesting that as an option.
