CB radio / Spare tire mounting

Hey guys!
Just got myself a CB radio with a PA. Trying to see some great ideas of mounting the CB radio inside the cab and antenna locations.

Also trying to figure out a way to mount a 33 Spare onto the truck without using up the bed space.

I put my CB in the pocket below my single DIN radio

 

It was able to fit? Mine doesnt fit into the pocket under the radio by like half an inch or even less. Did you cut it to make it fit?

 

I cut it. I also needed a 90 deg fitting for the coax because there wasn't room behind it for the standard connector.

 

I didnt want to cut mine but that looks really good. I actually might. I was thinking about mounting it vertical behind the centerconsole.

 

Pics of mine, a Cobra WX ST II, mounted in single DIN space. Like Wulf mentioned, I also used a 90 degree coax connector plus I used a heat gun to very gentle mold the heat/ac duct inward to clear the coax connector and allow a flush mount.

I use a Firestik antennae on a BAMF mount at tailgate .

 

I initially didn't want to cut it but I also wasn't really using it for anything else so I went for it. Behind the console could work alright. Less accessible but on a trail ride you shouldn't need to mess with your settings too much anyways.

 

I decided to mount it behind the center console. Heres the outcome with the antena mount (still gotta drill a hole in bed to run the wire and install a graumet in the hole). Took off the center console and ran the wire through it.

 

For my antenna coax, I ran it through an existing hole (with a factory grommet) at the lower driver-side rear of the cab. I slit the grommet, ran the wire through it, then used sealant to make it water tight.

 

hmm gotta see if I have en existing hole behind the cab. I was going to drill a hole in the bed for the wire with a grommet run it under the truck into the engine bay and up through the firewall where the harness enters.
