    I had a lot of wind noise till I installed FR gasket material they sell in the channels. It fixed 90% of the noise. I might have a little wind noise from LED light bar. But very minimal...

    They were M8, I believe. Standard depth. The knurling on the rivnut is just long enough for the mushroom to spread inside the roof panel and lock it in place. I always have to remind people that rivnuts are not high-torque fasteners so you don't have to be a gorilla to install them and they'll work just fine.

    The bolts that came with my Pelfrey rails are either M6 or 1/4”, did you guys go bigger?

    I bought them at orchard hardware supply, but I’m sure you can find them on Amazon! They were just the right size for the head of the bolt. Worked great.

    They may have been M6. I honestly don’t remember. When we did the install, @4T3Underhill had the bolts and I just matched them to the corresponding rivnuts I had on hand. I remember them being metric but they were either M6 or M8.
    Those bolt caps are really cool. (They’re called bolt caps BTW). I think I found some at Lowes too after we did the install. I’ll see if I can find a link.

    It’s two layers of sheet metal that is spot welded together along the drip rail. The sheet metal itself is actually quite thin. I want to say 18ga or so. Standard rivnuts are perfect for that area though so you should be fine. Just make sure to drill your hole to the correct size so the rivnut has somewhere to grip. If you drill it too big, you’ll have to get creative.

    Thanks. I always buy the recommended drill bit, usually 2, just in case. Seen people struggle when they drilled a slightly oversized hole because they didn’t have the correct bit.

    I'm a big fan of uni-bits for that reason. I have about half a dozen of them in different sizes and a couple doubles in case one gets dull. If you don't have drill stop collars, I'd also recommend them- cheap insurance. I remember you and I had talked about the air bags and how close they are to the rear mounting hole. @4T3Underhill and I experiences the same thing on his truck, but it didn't slow us down too much.

    Something to add to what @GHOST SHIP and I experienced, yes the airbag was pretty darn close to the sheet metal where you have to drill but what we came across in the rear two passenger side holes (every truck is a little different) where we drilled our first pilot hole. If you start to see the pink/white airbag material. It actually seems to be just extra fabric material that is wrapped around the airbag. (Little confusing) but once you get in there you’ll be able to see it. We did have to drop the corner of the headliner on my passenger side to help pull the airbag away a bit just to make sure we weren’t drilling into it, but after we confirmed that it was just a lot of extra fabric material, it was smooth sailing.

    Also @DaveEli the measurement from the first bolt to the window glass is 6 3/4 inches.

    Those helped on our install also. Just limits the chance of going right to the headliner or any other part. Also something that I forgot to do that I wish I had was, when you drill the holes into the sheet-metal take some color matched touch up paint and paint the bare metal edge in the hole where you drilled. Just an extra small step to help avoid possible rust or corrosion. (I think your on the east coast) i’m originally from Maine.

    I’m in Virginia Beach, so corrosion is an issue.
    Had any problems with leaking?
    Did you put sealant inside the spacers?
    I’m going to use silicone.
