Any Members in Arkansas?

Unfortunate IMO. It could have been a rich conversation that benefited TW members. While vendors can run their business as they see fit, it could have provided a way for TW to hold its vendors to certain standards (if they wish to remain on the TW vendor list). But those are just my thoughts, nothing more. I'm happy to share more over a cup of coffee.

So, who’s camping Saturday night and where? I’ve got a date night, but think my truck is going to breakdown. Byrd’s is gonna be crowded and full of Jeepers...Someone call Rhonda and tell her I’m stuck on trail and can’t make it...but wait til Saturday PM

So far it’s Rich, Dave and his wife and me. Not sure location yet but Richland campground is an option but will likely be full or crowded. Awesome camp spot tho. I know a couple spots in Middle Fork area also an option. So many options but hadn’t decided for sure.

Howdy guys, I am just over the border near New Boston Texas. Been going up to Alberts Pike since I was toddler. Looking to do some driving and camping around the state. Where should I go?

 

The options are endless...we've got the Quachitas and the Ozarks and some of the best trail runs in the US. Best advice is get a Forest Service map and go for it. Dispersed camping and hundreds of miles of trails for all skill levels. Once you pick a general area post up and we'll see if we have any specific advice. Check out Natural State Overland website and on Facebook, and also check here, we get out and do runs together as well. Lots of youtube vids and web info on Arkansas trail runs.

From New Boston take 259 N past Broken Bow Lake then into the Ouachita NF on the Oklahoma side, then east into Arkansas. Forest Service roads and trails are endless. Fill up, take a lunch and have fun.

 

I think I am gonna take about a month to do it. I wanna visit all the nooks and crannies I can find

IMO best time to tour is leaf off (Oct - March) to appreciate the views more. Summer, leaf on gets hot, dusty, touristy, and ticks, chiggers and snakes are out.
