Unless I’m mistaken it appears they now have an SL 265/75/16 so I have these back in the list.

Do these have 3 ply sidewalls like ko2s?

I'm pretty certain the ATX uses 2-ply sidewall construction in all sizes.

E was all I saw originally so I marked them off my list. I went back the day I made the post and they showed an SL. That listing is now gone and all I see is an E. That makes me wonder if they were planning another tire or the website was just screwed up. Sorry but it looks like the site was updated with only E.

Damn. I want to try another tire other than ko2s but the severe winter rating and 3 ply sidewalls are a must for me.

Generals website now lists the SL and C rated load ranges for ATX. ~40lbs for 265/70/16! I'll will be buying a set in a couple months after the AT2s are done

What do you do that makes the 3 ply sidewall a must?

My AT2 has the snowflake symbol, so that shouldn't be a concern.

Trails are pretty tight here in the PNW. Lots of roots and rocks that like to catch sidewalls, have seen quite a few torn open.

We've had a LOT of tirewall failure at the place I go hunting. So far, the AT2 have held up. I've been please, although maybe just a little lucky too.

If the total thickness of a two ply tire is the same as a three, what's the difference?

Just received a set of these on Friday and had one tire that couldn't be balanced (>14 oz weight required), the other tires balanced at 7-8 oz each. One new tire on the way thanks to the excellent support @Discount Tire Direct, and I'm trying to not lose my enthusiasm for these until I get that replacement. I had a set of Grabber AT2s that were quiet on the highway for the majority of their use (54k miles) so I should have a good baseline to compare to the new tires, since the majority of my driving is on-road and only occasionally off.

I apologize one of the General Grabber A/TX tires could not be balanced easily. Glad to hear there is already a new one on its way to you.

We look forward to hearing your opinion of them when you get a chance.

One week and several hundred miles on them so far. I love the tread pattern but have only had them on a dirt road so far. Unfortunately, the tires are riding worse than my AT2s (with 55k miles on them) at highway speeds. Since I replaced my previous tires before they were worn out simply because I wanted a better highway ride, I'm pretty disappointed. While I don't expect my truck to ride like a cadillac, I figured these would surpass the AT2 with the improvements General has boasted about for the tire. Any ideas what else I should try? I could have the shop near me (a Firestone store) put them on the road-force machine, or I could try to get General to cover the tires under their 45-day customer satisfaction period and go with the new Continental A/T. When I tried calling General last week they gave me the run-around and said I need to follow-up with you guys since I purchased them online.

You will likely need to do some trimming depending on what wheel you are using.

Here is a good thread with information on the 275/65R-18 fitment:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/275-65r18-will-it-fit.210250/

    Hope this helps.
