The guy on here that I read about this method said 3 full days. He did not say anything about any pre-treatment like sanding or anything. Just out of curiosity. Are you using Clorox or a generic brand bleach. Not being an ass, just curious. Oh, he did say a full gallon although I'm not sure a half would matter.

I’ll agree. jL is top of the line in my book. Will never go with any other brand.

Spent the past two days detailing my truck. First day clay barred paint and windows, Second day I applied some Hydrosilex to the paint, windows and rims. This is the first time using this product so we shall see how it holds up!

Clorox Splashless Bleach. We saw a video where someone was using like Mighty Bleach or something like that. It looked a lot thicker than regular bleach, and it did it in less than an hour. So the method to my madness is that the splashless bleach is thicker than regular bleach, so we thought it was more concentrated, and hoped that it would take less time. It didn’t seem to work out that way.

My next project is my grill, so I was hoping that I could find a method that would be doable on a large scale to do with the grill. I’m not sure that this is the method for that or not.

Well, he didn't mention splashless, but he definitely said it took 3 full days.

To do a grill would take a very large container and a lot of bleach.

I wonder if the chemical reaction that strips the chrome equalizes when there is too little bleach.

From my experience with pools and chlorine, which is just milder bleach, the chlorine has a limited working ability. The more waste it has to convert the less it works. Therefore, the more chrome paint you're removing, the more bleach that will be required. Also, and this shouldn't matter either but maybe it does. Did you remove all the 3M tape and residue from the back of the emblems?

Again, bleach is a chemical that can be neutralized.

Finally added some lighting under the hood. I saw the mod on another thread and thought it would be nice to have the option. Just wired up two led strips to a toggle switch. Lights up nice and clear. Definitely a nice cheap mod.

I would use a test emblem before using these products, when I was doing my research I read that the type of plastic used for our emblems is different than what they use for model cars, so some of what works on those has a tendency to attack the plastic on our emblems. It looks like maybe EZ Off would work but I would check to make sure before you do it on anything you plan to use.

LOL. it is kinda loud but I feel the opposite. I like being able to scare away punk teens who have been lingering around my truck too long.

Honestly tho, I think you had a great idea in applying sound deadening. I will have to do it once I order some more!

What purpose do they serve ?

Do they provide some type of trail lighting ?

Just trying to understand what they are.

Just a convenient retractable step. Works great. Expensive for a step versus a Wal-Mart stool, but a cheap option compared to a lot of upgrades people put on their trucks.

They are super duper mega raptor lights! No real purpose or function but they score a lot of mall points. If 3 are good on Raptors, 5 must be better, right?

It's what I told the bartender....3 is good.....5 is better.

I had to ask. I wasn't sure what use they had. Now I know. Mall crawling. Thanks for the info.

Would be cool if he could change colors on them......he's got a Halloween thing going on with them now. Red & Green for the Christmas season, maybe ???? Blinking disco version for New Year's Eve......or when it's time to roll up on the skating rink.

    Mall crawling.

I suppose I did my share of it......back in the day.

I'll now leave that stuff to the flat bill wearers.....unless they have some hotass mom's & aunts tagging along....then I'm down with the concept.
