Hello all, frustrating morning here in the mountains in Colorado. I have a 2014 tacoma 6 speed manual, and we got about 6 inches of snow over night, so when I went to pull the truck out of my drive way i turned the 4 wheel drive button to 4 hi and reversed out of my driveway, drove about a mile into work and no 4 wheel drive. Got to work put it in and out of 4hi and went forward and reverse a few times and only got 2 wheels. Also put in neutral and shifted knob to 4low went forward and reverse and only two wheel.....ugh. Any ideas?

Side note this last weekend I went wheeling and 4hi and 4low worked fine didn't do anything crazy where I would of noticed I broke something.

Thanks for any thoughts, kinda a silly post I know just bummed thinking something is wrong.

Stays lit when the switch is in 4HI or stays lit when you go back to 2HI?

How exactly do you know it's only 2wd?

Stays lit when the knob is at 4hi turns off when knob is turned back to 2wd

It's only got 2wd when I shift the knob to 4hi because I have about 6 inches of snow on the ground and when I give it gas the back end just slides in forward and reverse

First thing I'd do is have somebody watch both front tires and ensure that neither of them are spinning when that happens.

100% sure the other side wasn't spinning? Only 1 front tire will spin could be either one

Yeah it's really odd that the 4wd light would remain solid, yet not actuate 4wd

Doesn't appear either front tires spin when in 4wd, I think its the actuator everyone is talking about.
