Anyone have any recommendations or recent group buys for a roof rack to fit snuggle over the softopper on a 2nd gen? Ive seen that All-Pro made a great design but there website clearly states the APEX rack does not fit over the softtopper. I know they did make these but the market must not be there anymore? Looking to buy there weld together kit or something equivalent

There is a member on here that makes them to go over the SofTopper. @Dissent86

    Here is his website: https://dissentoffroad.com/

This may be the route that I end up going as well for my 3rd Gen.

I am in the middle of making racks for over my Softopper. I am using material I had on hand. I only need to carry a small kayak and a 35 lb Old Town Pack canoe so I didn't need something capable of holding a roof top tent.
I still need to add bracing and paint it with bedliner.

    None.
Is that 80/20? I see the Purdue sticker and an Ohio sticker. I was born in Ohio and then moved to Indiana when I was 5 and went to Purdue. I'd love to build an 80/20 rack. I'm debating that or welding one.

Correct on all three. It's two 80/20 bars, the 1020 variant. The two bars simple sit on a piece of angle alum bar mounted to the bed rails. Flexible and easy and strong.

Anyone have more pictures of a black tacoma w/ tan softopper? I've seen one or two of them but wondering if anyone has any recent shots.

Is the spare tire causing any issues for the softopper? the way it's touching makes me think it's pushing against the softopper frame

Slightly on the frame of the softopper but I have it strapped down pretty tight. It will be aight.

actually jsut checked it now on the way to work. It's hardly if at all touching the frame if that's makes you feel better.

    Yep.
Has anyone ever seen or heard of a modified front window that would allow access to the bed?

The lack of bed access from the cab (reg cab - reach a cooler, dog access...etc) is the only thing keeping me tied to an aluminum/fiberglass cap.

With that, those that travel with fur buddies in the back, have any input? Thoughts, opinions, pros/cons?

@BabyTaco @Nimble9 - you're the only two that I know off the top of my head

I'm sure it could be done, the front window is a separate piece that I presume you could purchase separately. my dog rides in my rear seats. If there wasn't enough fur inside my cab to make a 2nd German Shepard than it wouldn't be my truck haha

For awhile I just ripped the front window off . I thought there used to be a doggy door option.

You know Ima dreamer, and my heart’s offroad. I had to drive away high, so I didn’t get stuck low. Home Sweet Home...
Same concerns here. Wonder if the frame is stiff enough to make one of these work???

As far as I known they used to offer this option for a little bit more money of course. Not sure if they still do though.
