Any tips on negotiating price on a trd off-road access cab ? I see a few guys saying they got great deals but I always heard Tacoma’s kinda sell themselves and dealers don’t budge too much

A $1,000 under cost is a GREAT deal, aim for that and tell the dealers you already got that deal, and you want them to best it, don’t look or act desperate, be ready to walk and let them chase you. Be polite and tell them on your way out that if they change their minds, to call you, and that they only have a day to decide, because you don’t want to waste their time or yours. If you feel your deal isn’t the greatest but good enough, you can always have them throw in free stuff and/or get a great APR if you're financing. If you save a $1000 or 2 on interest at the end of the payment, it almost balances out.

$1000 under dealer invoice(what the dealer paid the manufacture). Check out truecar.com I believe kbb.com shows this info as well now.

It is tough to get a flagship Toyota model at or below cost but it can be done, especially if you are willing to drive a few hours(this opens up the amount of dealerships you can negotiate with). Some dealerships are all about volume and will give better deals, generally smaller dealerships are all about squeezing every dollar out of every deal.

Educate yourself, be firm but friendly and shop around. First offer is never the best offer...

    Good luck.

Lol the dealer did not lose $1000 on a 2018 tacoma unless your dad or uncle or something sold you the truck. No way lol.

I think he's meaning $1000 under dealer invoice. Invoice nowadays means thousands in profit for dealerships, unlike years ago when invoice meant actual invoice. So much hidden in it for dealerships, I can't imagine it's easy to find a true invoice anymore. I purchased mine a couple hundred under invoice, but dang it took a while and I look back wondering if it was worth all the hassle.

That's exactly what I meant. But his post says "$1000 under dealer invoice(what the dealer paid the manufacture)." I'm hoping he isn't under the delusion of thinking the dealership actually lost money on his truck.

Dealers don’t make thousands after invoice. About 1400 on a Tacoma. 600 on a Corolla. That $ is NOT guaranteed, it can be kept by Toyota for various reasons.
