It’ll help, it’s more the OD I’m worried about with a 4.5” backspace. Try it, it’ll be close for sure!

I too wanted an egg grill but never committed due to the price tag. Instead I bought a Acorn by Char-Griller 2 years ago and I love it! Check 'em out

Thanks! Yeah, the Green Egg prices are just wrong, but the Acorn prices are more than I want to commit at this point. I want to get a feel for charcoal again and see if it works for the Fam also. We're finally back to where meals are not a rush and the kids are old enough to appreciate something that isn't just mac-n-cheese.

I gotcha. I bought mine "used" from a guy online. It was basically brand new and only paid $150.

Aww crap! Now I'm second guessing putting one or even having one put on my Taco.
Hope this all works out for you!

I added a six-circuit fuse block to the inside the cab that’s hooked to the auxiliary battery (i.e., always on). Now I can easily plug & play additional interior accessories (coming very soon).

The fuse block is attached with high-strength Velcro, staple-gunned against the firewall. I added an extra two feet of cabling so I can pull the fuse block off the firewall to make wiring easier on the ol’ neck.

Sometimes it's a pedastal for a grill that fits in your receiver hitch. Plenty of other off topic conversation goes on here as well. :notsure:
There's also an adequate amount of on topic talk here. Some really great ideas, mods and rides from some very talented and ingenious folks that I've read while tending the grill or while stuffing my face from something just off the grill.
This is the one place that I go to get away from all the Political Correctness in the world. Technically I get the point but I also don't see it as being a really big deal. No offense intended, just my point of view for what it is or isn't worth.
Mod on, grill on, put a "grille" on and enjoy the short amount of time we're all here on this earth.

I like the idea of the ceramic plate. A much cheaper idea than what I use. I use the ceramic smoking stone wrapped in foil. https://www.amazon.com/Char-Griller-6201-Smokin-Stone/dp/B009E8NATC. I'll give the sauces a try. I strictly use lump charcoal and either cherry or apple wood chunks when I cook my ribs. I'm fond of the 3-2-1 method for smoking ribs!

Just to chime in on the smoker's talk..

I started smoking, effectively, a few years ago with an electric smoker and I love the ease. I feed it with he same wood chips that most of you guys are using. It is just very nice to set it to the temp I desire and it stays there for the duration of the cook or until I change it. I add wood chips once every hour or so, it has a water basin above the smoke/heat box to catch dripping juices and add moisture to the smoke.

I know it is not the "old school" method and that the wood/charcoal fired smokers can yield a better more "genuine" flavor. I also know that I spend less than 10 minute preparing the smoker for it's duty, cleanup is quick, and I get predicable results. I also use the 3-2-1 method for my ribs.

My next grill may likely be a offset smoker/grill type with both direct heat and indirect smoke capabilities. That will give me additional smoker capacity, and can replace my current direct heat grill while taking the same-ish footprint.

No back to talking about .. what was it again?? Tacomas!!!
