I should have looked for other replies but I was lazy. Bro, this looks unsafe as hell! I normally don't tell others what to do with their rides but you need to change this. Look for some tapered, extended thread lug nuts. Gorilla brand makes some that are widely endorsed and used by a lot of members here on the forum, but any brand will work. Just make sure they are tapered, and extended thread!

Man, I wanted to add this edit......I went back and looked at the pic again and I am not sure but you might need longer studs. There is a minimum of how many threads those lugs need to bite to be considered safe and I am not sure you are there. You might want to send that photo to some experts. Maybe reach out to @SCSPerformance . You might not have bought their wheels but they are not prejudiced like that when it comes to helping out members of the forum.

Thank you for your well wishes. They live in Kapoho point just next to the Kapoho tide pools, so far everything is the same, hopefully it stays this way. They are very fortunate to have a second home on the island up in Volcano, so if the worst did happen, they would have a home still, so many are just not so fortunate and it is upsetting. They are staying down in Kapoho for now, with the activity at the Halemaumau crater they are uneasy, their home up there is less than 2 miles from the center of the crater. Hoping it all ends soon.

Who cares if you have a pro, limited, off-road, sport, sr5 and whatever else is out there. Why do people give a shit. Brag all you want. I brag about my off road. Brag about your pro. People that have to put down others are just simply jealous or unhappy with their position. That’s their own fault. Be you regardless of what other think. This is crazy to me. Hawaiian or not Hawaiian. Be true to who you are and the people around you. I think you are just fine. Ignore the people that are giving you a negative experience because in the end, it’s not worth it. Your truck is sweet. Keep it up

I travel for work and carry four totes with everything that I need strapped in the back seat. Up until now I had been using a cheap moving blanket as a makeshift seat cover. Decided to get the sewing machine out today and stitch up the sides. The cover isn't perfect, but it will work great for my intended purpose. Bonus, I think it will work well to protect my seats from the doggo!

I don't see the point of putting a fancy tailpipe tip on, unless you're going for a street truck look. This looks better, especially with nice tires, cleans it up.

I had same problem at first.... especially when all I saw was the schematic. :) didn't see the pdf in my junk mail box.

Either way, JJ is a great guy, and super helpful. I called him a week later and redid my install with the diodes so the switches would operate independently .... he even took the time to teach me about the "why" it all worked (although truthfully I only understood about 70%) .....

Just go slow.... I found getting the wire into the cabin from the engine was the worst part.

Hard not to notice... Don't worry. You're too far away to track down and there's just a roof rack to pull off your truck. Wait a minute... that is a nice roof rack. Might have to go south for a parts run. :boink:

Did you post pics of where you cut off the exhaust?

I am not upset how you speak personally, I was just stating an observation to your confusion on how someone could be offensive towards you. Just my observation from the few posts I've remembered reading from you :notsure:. No I'm not a haole since I don't live in Hawaii and try to speak like the natives there. I've lived in Hawaii several months as a boy and have made great friends who are native Islanders who I continue to see and visit when the budget allows. I've seen them beat some haoles up for much less than just speaking their language. They aren't from the greatest area though. Just be careful. Again just an observation to your bewilderment.

Yea, just do you. Things aren't always gonna be rainbows and unicorns on here so just shrug it off. I don't side with anyone when it comes to disputes on the forum unless someone is being a jerk about it. It's ok for some controversy and differences of opinion. I like when someone makes me question my own actions or thoughts because maybe I am missing something. We are all just human. Some people may seem to bash you but in reality they might just feel equally passionate in the opposite direction and are maybe just a little more articulate about it. That's cool too. Again, I don't don't want to be part of any Stepford Wives type forum. It's not healthy. LOL, and as far as your truck goes, and showing off. All I can say to others that don't like that type of attitude is........naaa, I'll keep that to myself. I think there were T shirts out or a saying like a hundred years ago "If you got it, flaunt it". Who cares if you are the richest man or the poorest man on the planet. As long as you earned your money the good old fashioned way, you do what the hell you want with it. And yes, I do want to see the results. I may not like them or even understand them, and I may even consider them wrong for me, but who am I or anyone else to try to tell you to stop?

I lived on Oahu from 1968 to 1972, and understand why you are making this statement. However, I don't think it's disrespectful to speak in any native language to anyone if the sentiment and dialogue are correct. As a matter of fact, I think it is a sign of respect regardless what race Brian and I are. But I definitely understand why your Hawaiian friends (if they are true Hawaiian descendants) feel the way they do.

Some fine carpentry there. Seriously, nicely done.

If you should ever want to redo it in some material that's less of a fire hazard (kidding!), might want to check out these folks:

    https://www.8020.net

We use a lot of this stuff at work, but they don't seem to mind do-it-yourselfers (small orders) and will even cut material to length if you like. Not as convenient as heading over to the Big Orange Box, but pretty close.

we do a lot of work with alum extrusion for cages around robots where I work...nice stuff! yeah it was kinda a last minute decision, eventually I plan on doing a cap so I didn't want to spend huge money on a rack system but also wanted something quick for camping this summer, im a machinist not a carpenter so me and a buddy just sorta haphazardly threw it together lol
