    You’ll get very tired of a cab mounted RTT.

    I’d consider bed bars. They’re removable when you don’t want the tent on, and only a few hundred bucks.

    You and I just canceled out our opposite opinions about that, my family loves ours.

    Bed bars are a very good Idea, unless you have a shell...

    Because of overall vehicle height, change in handling and driving characteristics, wind noise, MPG loss, etc. The tent is still lovable, but the setup may not be. I wouldn’t spend $600 on a cab rack, unless absolutely no other way to mount the tent.

    Ahh, but we have a kid’s room in the shell, and the parent’s suite above! :bananadance:

    But really, we’re comparing having a shell vs no shell with an RTT. Not a really good comparison, I would say.
