What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I gotta disagree here. The manufacturers say you should use red thread locker (and actually supply it) on the nuts that go to your axle studs, especially since they are behind the wheel and you can't easily tighten them unless the wheel is off. I use blue loctite on my spidertrax though.

 

I only said anti seize because of i heard stories of guys who used spacers and the nuts get so night on spacer that when you try to take it apart you end up spinning the the lug in the spacer. Also when they are fully on there in the front its would be really hard to remove without a inpact gun. I dont use loctite and never had a problem

Yeah I never had an issue with that, as long as everything is properly torqued to spec, you are fine using loctite. And loctite is a form of anti seize as well. I personally wouldn't run spacers without it, but that's just me.

 

It’s probably only a problem with cheap ebay spacers but I still didn’t want that to ever be a problem for me lol

 

I've never used loctite on my spacers. Just ET lug and 90ft/lbs. They have never loosened.

 

Did mine a couple weeks ago (13WG) along with steel lines. A huge improvement over those puny stock brakes. You're going to love it.

guys running aftermarket UCAs, how often do you change out the bushings?

I’m in the off-road shop now. I’m watching some friends house/dog and didn’t want to mess with bleeding the brakes with no help.

 

If its polyurethane it should just last for ever. If they are rubber then once they start looking bad, like bad oem bushings the switch them

 

Exactly how I did it when I ran spacers. Throw them on, torque to spec. They will seize to the hub over time anyway especially if you don't use anti seize like myself. Bitch to get off but at least they werent gonna fly off the hubs.

They will wallow out and get ruined.

Id change them out when you do the uniball which could be anywhere from every 10k-50k+

 

Had to do truck stuff and the camper shell on my Taquito wouldnt allow it. So I broke out the old '92 and put it to work.

 

I was under the impression that the polyurethane will out last rubber ones due to they dont have as much give. Atleast on road that is.

 

Do you typically keep her in the garage and rarely use her or what?
