What size dust cap did you use in the back of the headlight?

 

They're morimoto 5500k

I would like something exactly like this just with the chrome painted black perfect

 

How much something like this ?

 

More than most people would want to spend. Just in parts in close to 1k. Plus OEM housings, and the time to MESO custom it all.

Well looks like I have it all? No instructions so need to figure out the switchback halo and DRL wires???

 

Ok all you who have done this type of mod. I've checked all the wires on the DRL plug. Red is power, white with black stripe is ground. Can't figure out the green wire. Doesn't seem to have power either with drl alone or with headlights on. Thanks in advance.

 

White/blk is ground
Red will only have power when DRL switch is on.
Green will have power when headlight switch is on.

 

So I should have the red hooked to the 100% power and the green to 50% power on the led module?

 

I don't know what led module you are running, but does the 100% input need to be powered at the SAME TIME as the 50% power input? If so, a problem will arise because the Toyota DRL wires switch off and power the other wire. Both green and red will never have power at the same time.

 

Diode dynamics switchback. I tested the red wire and it has power with drl only and headlights on. This is from them since I got no instructions.

Thanks for contacting us today! You can tap whichever circuits you please for power, to allow for the functionality that you desire. Below are the wire designations for this product, for your reference:

White: Low Power, 50% brightness (Typically tapped to the Parking Light Circuit)
Red: High Power, 100% brightness (Typically tapped to the DRL Circuit)
Amber: Signal (Tapped to the Turn Signal Circuit)
Black: Ground (Tapped to a common Ground)

If you wire this kit as recommended; that will ensure that the boards are on when the DRLs are on (during the day) and that the boards are on when the parking lights are on (during the night). The white LED channels function just as the circuits you tap them to function from stock. (I.e. If your headlights are on auto, and the DRL comes on automatically, the DRL Boards will as well.) The amber LEDs will only illuminate when the turn signals are engaged, then switchback to the white channel when the turn is

 

Well just double and triple checked my wires. Red is always hot with any lights on apparently lighting half the board or half brightness? With drl only and the parking brake off the green also has power lighting the other half of the board or double brightness think I'm just going to have them bright all the time till I figure this out.

 

Where is this plug? My DRL plug has red, orange, and black wires.

 

That is from the harness to the drl. Drl wires on other side are red, orange and black.

 

The red orange side is the truck. Is that what you were testing?

 

Not on mine. Coming from truck on drivers side is red, green, white. Passenger side from truck is green, blue, white.

Both have red, orange, black going into light.

 

Guess mine is different. As seen above I have Red, orange and black go into the light. Headlight projectors are fairly easy. The halo and drl modules just need to find right wires and where to put 8 starters, ballasts, and modules and relays...lol...

 

I’ll have to take some pics of my ballast locations and my resistor locations on where I mounted them for you. If I remember correctly, you were asking people before where people were mounting theirs in their Engine Bay.
