Here is another Headlight project I am working on. It's a little over the top, but whatever.

    It will have the following features;

-4ea Bi-Led Projectors(2 per headlight) Since they are both high+low beam, there will be 4 low beam and 4 high beams
    -Custom Side marker
-Swap White LED DRL's for AMBER (using factory Board/optics)
    -Quad Angry Halos
    -Black out all chrome
-Custom molded Amber tinted turn signal lens
-Some more stuff I'm probably forgetting

    Updated Pic:
    The Start:

    The projectors:
First thing was to test the output/cutoff. Not bad for 1. Wait until there are 4:)

next was take apart the OEM DRL board. De-solder the white LED's

And replace them with AMBER LEDs(left) VS OEM (right)
Props to Paul @diodedynamics for the chips!

    BRIGHT!

Next, the projectors were disassembled to paint the inside black. This will give a passive blacked out look when the projectors are off.

    Before:

    After:

Here is a size comparison to the OEM projector
    [IMG]

    Side reflector:
I milled out some Amber acrylic which will be backlit for parking lights
    [IMG]

    Tinted
    [IMG]
    Turn signal bucket:
I wanted to keep the performance of the chrome reflector bucket..but I hate chrome.
    So I blacked out the sides, and created an Amber acrylic that kind of hides the chrome, but still lets all the light though;

    VS stock
    [IMG]

    NEXT UP: MOUNTING
    I attempted to cut up the OEM projector mounting bracket... that did not work to say the least. So I took matters into my own hands and designed drop in brackets to hold bolt projectors;

Pefect fit! Snaps right into the Factory alignment cups, and will be able to level/adjust them just like factory
    [IMG]

I wanted the 2nd Projector to sit as far back as possible so it doesn't look out of place
    [IMG]

    Mock Up:

Next up will be the angry Halos, they will be partially blacked out giving this look:

    That's it for now!
    Stay tuned for more updates:)

Finished up both side projector mounts. Now I just need to pop them in the buckets and do some final tweaking. I aligned them on the bench.. and I gotta say getting 4 cutoffs to line up perfect is kinda tricky.

All nylon lock nuts..this thing isn't moving
    [IMG]

    This is alot of light....

My JDM goodies arrived; Amber tint spray and Phillips Ultinons(not available in US) They give the Trittons a run for their money.

Lightly smoked(top) VS Amber tinted(bottom). Which do you guys think?
After testing both...the smoke cuts down the light a tiny bit, where as the amber lets 100% through..

Both done. I like the amber look, and don't loose any performance.

    Test fit, ready for alignment(dark)
    MAD MAX YO
    [IMG]

    OMG SO BRIGHT:bananadead:

    Perfect!!!(that's 4 Cutoff lines BTW:D)

Did up a fresh pair of Turn signal housings and amber lens's today.

You can notice the right side had to be trimmed a little for the Halo clearance. But it's not seen anyway..so all good.

I'm pretty stoked about how these turned out. Having a passive Amber Lens will allow for a darker "blacked out look", but maintain all the benefits with a chrome reflector bucket. Form and Function:thumbsup:..well a balance at least.

    Heated up, formed, and trimmed.

Heads of the Ultinon's were painted black to darken up the bucket a little. Performance is unaffected because the emitters face down anyway.

    It's the little details...

Front View. You see orange instead of chrome. Which is.. better I guess
    [IMG]

Obviously, Toyota's bowl design isn't the best for light spread..but it's what I got to work with. I may tap the Amber outside DRL bar to use as a secondary turn signal...

    Speaking of,
Here's a quick super unscientific test of my LED swapped + tinted lens.

Not horrible. I tested the OEM white and it was around ~450 at the hot spot.

    Now the Ugly....
In order for the 2nd projector to sit back where I wanted it, the rear of the housing has to be modified. No way around it..

    3D printed rear covers
    [IMG]

    Lookin' good

The price is justifiable when the product = form and function with quality materials. Those are the same people that add spacer lifts to their trucks that see it that way.

    EDIT: NEED MORE PICS!
