Cool, not a fan of chrome on trucks, but definitely a fan of tech. I had a 3/4 ton Dodge diesel, then a Tundra, then a 4Runner and now the Taco. It's an odd progression and besides the Taco being less roomy I'm very happy with it. Our DD is a larger hybrid sedan. Not only does it avg 40 mpg which makes up for the lower mpgs of the Taco, its loaded with tech and super cush. I miss the 4R sometimes though. I liked the ride, unlike most that wanted it to be a car. I'm doing all the gingerbread mods on the Taco first, then will concentrate on off-road function. A lift first to break into it, then armor to get serious. Naturally you'll be my guy for that

LOL, I actually prefer a truck to ride like a truck. I run E range Nittos but they are smooth. I'm not going crazy with the lift either. Just what's required to make the suspension more capable. Likely just a medium OME kit. I'd like to ride in a 3rd gen with a heavy kit and no weight to see how bad it is though.

I have medium OME's on my 4Runner now. They're not terrible. Good for light wheeling, not so much for heavy. Very little droop.

I've got a heavy ass set up on my truck even though it's a second gen and I will say with the really heavy deaver pack since it has so many leafs and is really progressive rate it doesn't ride a whole lot different same with the Bil6112s I have up front which come with like a 640# spring off the bat. I like my trucks to feel like trucks also and not like a squishy car.

Would 4.10s even be worth it?

Nope. Not in my opinion. I’d say a jump to 4.30 would be the minimum.

    Everything TW members recommend
I have 4.56’s and I think that’s in the sweet spot for my 33s’ for more grunt and crawling ability, but will still allow me to go 34” or 35” in the future without having to upgrade again.

I'm mainly concerned with highway drawbacks as I have to highway everywhere to get away from here.

Sounds like 4.30 would be a good fit then for you. Would be a good middle ground between highwayability but handles the weight well.

Mail them to me and I’ll test them out to let you know how I like it.

Edit: you thinking you’ll do ECGS?

Yea that's where my heads at. I think I'll replace the needle while I'm in there too. Are there rear locker implications I need to look into as well?

As in should you get one? That’s a tough call. If it were me, it wouldn’t even be a question. I’d get an ARB. For you, I’m not sure if it’d be worth it since you don’t have as much time to wheel, and the arb+compressor are around $1200

Well, I, uh....did a thing. @MolonLabeTaco taco got in my head ( :luvya: thanks though, it looks better) and I was bored, so I decided to trim my fender where I had hammered it back to help clean up the look.

I was always fond of the no fender flare look, but never took them off because I assumed I would have lines worn through my paint. When I found out that they didn’t, I went a little nuts and pulled off all my flares, and cleaned up underneath them the best I could.

I’m going to order new clips and modify them to plug the holes.
