I would agree 100%. I drove them all too and I too just don't think much ride difference between or and pro. My plan was cement or with prem and tech and when I went in they had it and new Calvary pro. I am not a person that likes color on my trucks and stick to earth tone . I'm usually white silver or gray. Also love the quicksand. This Calvary is like an earth tone but with color. Wierd. Wife and I both really liked it. Dealer offered me invoice on either one I wanted. I took the pro to try something different for.me being 55 yrs old. I will say biggest regret is no sunroof but.love my truck

FWIW, I think you will know when you find the truck that speaks to you. I knew instantly when i seen a 2017 cement colored pro that it was the truck for me. I do more hunting that offroading. Really liked that ride hieght. Not too tall and not too low. I dont tow big boats or travel trailers so I didnt need the trucks (Full size) I was looking at buying. And the PRO had the look that I wanted. Is it overpriced for the bolt on options... I think most would say yes, but time is money and I got the look I liked and didnt have to spend $$$ and HRS installing or modding the OR to achieve it.

Love my off road. In Canada the pro comes as loaded as the limited. The off road has much less, refinement no moon roof either. Although the moonroof means you lose about 1.5-2"s of headroom just FYI.

Off road soaks up the fireroads and washboard pretty good. Been on some gnarly trailers with no problem either.

Think I have to invest in a front camera mod though can't see what's coming up with the big fucking hood...

Thanks. I definately love the QS, but I've already got the long bed thing dialed.

Not really as that just makes it another Sport. Seems like they've already made the choice NOT to make that trade otherwise there would be 90% more Sport owners.

No but I'd trade crawl control for a front locker in a heart beat.

Fuck hood scoops I don't have intercooler up there it's just a bug catcher.

Yeah I read you said that before but when you've had that useless little bed you never want to go back.20160416_091053.jpg
    20160416_091044.jpg
I've had 5 trucks in 30+ years, only one had the little bed because it was the only option for 4 doops then.

    Never, ever again.

If you don't need 4 doors get the Access Cab OR instead.

Congrats on your decision. I went with the Pro, and have zero regrets.

So here's my .02 why I went with the PRO vs OR.

In the end, I wanted the combination of a Sport + the OR, and I really wanted black leather interior, basically that's the Pro with some additional factory upgrades (led fogs, fox shocks, TRD exhaust, TRD Wheels, black headlamps housing, black trimmed tail lights). Honestly, I would probably end up buying and adding most of that stuff anyways to make it look like the Pro, and I probably would have told myself that I should have just gotten the PRO in the first place. I would have liked the sunroof, although my 12' OR that I have been driving for the past 6.5 years didn't have one so I guess I was used to not having one. My wife drives a 4Runner, and when I drive it I feel like I'm constantly closing the sunshade anyways because I hate the sun shining down on my face. I really liked my 2nd Gen OR, but I Love my Pro.

Yeah I saw a youtube video of a kit that allows front and rear camera anytime on the head unit display.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/anytime-front-and-rear-camera-mod.542285/

Yeah, I think this will be my first real mod. Being able to use back camera whenever is good for towing, which is one of the main reasons I bought the truck.

So you got a 2018 off road for $28,000., you got a good deal.

If I could have got a new Pro for $40k I would have done it, but $45k is just too much for what you’re getting I think.

I honestly agonized over the 2018 Pro in Cavalry Blue and an OR with Tech and Premium packages in the Cement color. I came close to buying a 2017 Pro in Cement but wanted the TSS. I like the JBL and sunroof with the OR but like the Fox shocks, Pro grill, Pro skid plate, Pro rims. If I wouldn't have had to wait so long to get the OR in, I likely would have gone that route, but I can't say I regret getting the Pro. It's an awesome truck. If I win the lotto any time soon, I'll buy the OR too ;)
