But for real the second gen had some problems guys, long story and yes could of been fixed but I just started wrong with that truck. Cheap lift first of all screwed up a lot of stuff blah blah then the hit in the rest... Yeah I could go on and on didn't drive the best but still loved it. And will miss it! Already do until i get behind the wheel of the 17. Do miss all that storage up front though! My gosh i had way too much I guess lol. I didn't get a qt of it back in this truck. But I'm a ff so it's always good to have extra stuff and hunter. Anyone have any idea for any more storage room up front? I mean dang don't even have a change drawer... But it's fine I'm going to make it work!

there was not a wrong decision. You go what u wanted and it is sweet truck. All these new cars are going with these gas saving trans etc and it is the future. As far as some trading after few miles I have done it and it had nothing to do with vehicle problems. I think you will be happy.

Keep your 2nd gen and save your money. I love my 3rd gen but after I got past the honeymoon stage I wish I would have kept my 2nd gen and not had higher truck payments for another 2 years.

I wish that I could magically make my 1st gen brand new again, but the 3rd gen is growing on me... I like it. :)

Mine is a 4x4 SR so it doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but I'm guessing that the "P" with the wave and symbol of a cone is maybe for activating a proximity or parking alarm... the van that we got for my mom has it... sounds off before you get too close to something.

Is that right for those who know... and what did I win? :D

BS, the truck shouldn't have to sit in 4th gear at 70-75 to cross the plains of Texas. From Texline to Waco the truck got 16mpg and kept shift between 5th and 4th try to find enough power to maintain the speed limit.

It also shifts more because it has less HP and Torque than a second gen below 4k rpms.

    Glad you like it

No disrespect brother but you’re posting in a 3rd gen forum, it’s going to be a little biased. I think you already know what you want to do...;):)

I’m sure the same question in the 2nd gen forum would yield opposite results then here.

Any one that owns either gen is going to tell you to either stick with what you have, or go for 3rd gen. It’s going to be a forum based response.

Do an internet research of differences, problems, updates, pros and cons. Either way the Tacoma is proven itself bullet proof for the most part or else it wouldn’t have the high sales number it does, and last as long as it has.

Wanna talk more technology, look at 2018...I personally like the TSS, parking sensors and blind spot stuff. But in the grander scheme of things, not much more different than 2017! Wait until the 19s come out and get a deal on an 18, we’re almost there!

0 issues with our truck and love it. Its my wifes daily driver and after 20K miles in the first year I cant get her out of the thing. Truck is lifted on 32's and we can average 17-20mpg depending on where we are driving. Also people love how these trucks look, my wife and I both have had people yell at stop lights, parking lots etc saying they love the truck. I have owned modded cars that dont get this much attention lol

Congrats on that nice looking truck, enjoy it! Here are a couple ideas for a change holder. I use the Toyota ashtray one myself in one of the cupholders in back of the center console and it works perfect. The other one is nice also and is custom made for our trucks by a forum member.

Old pic in avatar, truck has OME lift, Ray10 wheels and 275/70/17 KO2's. This is two 100 mile trips mostly highway traveling 60-65mph, and yes lifted with wheels/tires. Truck currently has 20K miles and has had lift for 10K+

Im driving from Seattle to Portland tomorrow and may take a few trip summary photos for fun.

When that's on and backing up, the truck beeps as you get closer to an object, and then a solid tone when you're really close. I think the beeping starts about when the object is within the lines on the reverse camera image, and then goes solid tone when the bumper is within the last block on the screen.

Well that’s a long answer for simply saying it’s enable and disable for your rear parking sensors lol

That is such a scenic pic! Your QS is an angel with that holy halo above it lol! Your truck is beautiful might I add, thanks for sharing!

Just noticed the license plate bracket is an eyesore to the trucks natural contours from the side...I have it too but thought it flowed well black on black from the front. I added the black valence too and got the black legacy plates in Cali or else even against placement laws I wouldn’t have put it on...
