Agree with M cameron. Nitrous is the way to go for emergency power. Get on the bottle. Massive tq and HP increase depending on system.

You don't want to use nitrous to drive any distance. It's used in short bursts like a 1/4 mile dragstrip. It burns very quickly so you'd need a huge tank of the stuff to go anywhere on it. It also burns very hot and will burn a hole in your pistons eventually.

    Ov Tune adds 20 HP/Ftlbs. Plus CAI/Exhaust for 2-5HP

    That's about 25 HP for $1000 USD

a supercharger will give you what 50hp for $8000 USD?

You “need” the extra horsepower or want a more responsive engine? Track and racing? Did you not realize what you were getting or test drive it? Just curious not being sarcastic...OVT tune mentioned is a good start but you can also look at a “pedal commander” to trick your trucks gas pedal into being more responsive... doesn’t give you more horsepower but will make your truck anywhere from slightly jumpy to aggressively jumpy at the touch of the gas pedal...it just maps the throttle so that say an inch of pressing it can feel like 3 inches of pressing it, you get to select the settings for responsiveness..for now you could also turn ECT on...

Sure I test drove my taco but they would not let hook up my trailer to it it’s got power without the trailer as soon as you hit a head wind with the trailer on the power is all gone

Yeah, the Tacoma is not a towing machine. Especially if you're used to towing with a fullsize pick up. I sold a fullsize to buy a Tacoma. However, if I were towing on a regular basis, I would have held onto the fullsize. Or needed to tow anything over 4k lbs occasionally. I just don't feel good towing with a mid-size frame.

Fortunately, Tacoma's hold their value pretty well. If you decide to trade to a fullsize, at least the loss won't sting as much.

Yes I too sold my full-size tundra for the Tacoma. I don’t towe a lot but the times I do go to the lake it would be nice not to have to switch from automatic to manual shift k&n sells the cai for about $250 and the Magna flow cat is about $600 but it only increases the horsepower from 10 to 15 horse together so I was hoping that there was a tuner that would increase but there is nothing out yet so I will just have to wait for it

ECT, S mode 4th gear (3rd even if its a grade or stong headwind and its gear hunting) and lead foot. The 3.5 loves high rpms so dont worry if the tach is getting up there. You will feel it in your wallet at the pump but guarantee its less than any other option out there and remember youre towing with a mid sized truck. its not going to be going up a mountain pass at 65 hauling a camper so have realistic expectations.
