It's been done, but the cost and tools and experience needed made it prohibitive for me.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
Hit up @foxrcing07... I think he's working on getting ready to do a 4x swap in his 2nd gen. He may be able to answer some questions for you... he's a good dude.

I don't think there's a lot of fab, I could be wrong though. 2nd gen swap is harder than 1st gen, but it's not impossible.

A company called rock solid toys used to do it - their site isn't up anymore. Wyatt, the guy that ran it lives in the next town over. It's no joke and the amount of money I'd have to spend on a 4 banger regular cab isn't worth it when I could buy a more powerful and spacious 4x4 1st gen for less. Props to everyone doing it for sure though.

On another note, is there a gasket for this pipe? It looked like rtv when I cleaned it, but it is not for sure since I don't have a ton of experience. I want to say the groove in the hose flange is for rtv?

As of yesterday - all back together minus the bed.

How long b4 I blow out this rear “OEM” shock or bend the anchors???

    B6C7098E-3E26-44F6-AAF1-9A9FC74198FF.jpg

Gotta mod this motorcycle rack today, move the 2 outside chocks inward so can either have 1 motorcycle in the center or 2 side by side.

    BE2489BC-9B58-49C3-BB01-4AE1BDE9F70B.jpg

gonna mount a hiboy jack on the top of the factory bumper & use it to support a tri-fold ATV ramp (without the tailgate) that folds thanks to the bumper step cutout. Maybe add some angles to carry the ramp off the back.

Speaking of grills ... found my old man’s Toyota logo/grill from his 60/70s? Landcruiser P/U. Maybe i can mod that in??? It looks like this (from the Interwebs)

Question on the brake proportion valve & adjusting...

full empty load (without the truckbed even), the PV should be fully (or nearly fully) down? Fully down is 100% (or max % the PV allows) rear brakes? Fully up is 100% (or max % the PV allows) front brakes?

Right now, without the bed... I’m at 100+% up, which would mean I’m at 100% fronts no matter what load???

for reference on the General Spring OEM leaf packs (non-HD) never been weighted & only about 20 miles with the bed on.

Think I’ll send these picts to them, and see if this is what they expect. There is already a slight upward frown at the axle.

RTV only no gasket or o-ring, coolant rated RTV at that. Make the surfaces as clean as possible. That (hidden) flange has been the the source of "mystery coolant loss" symptoms when all other possible areas have been double checked.

Sorry to hear your question went unanswered. I usually try to pick up the ones with zero responses and try to help. When you say over boosted. Do mean it steers way to easy compared to the old rack?

Those leafs are gonna sit flat. Thats how its designed to on these trucks. I realised that after replacing mine even though I didnt need to. However, once I put my add a leafs in, they sit more like how you'd think they should.
