Hmm, no real problems with mine (even does traffic!) But agreed that it's not as good as Google and isn't graphically impressive but it works

It looks, and works, like the Tom-Tom I used to have... in 2001. ;)

I think the humidity would be the same both at engine level and at the top of the intake. Somebody could manufacture a Pro snorkel fender hole plug.

LED drop ins on high beams, low beams, fogs and led Amber blinkers that’s DONT reflect Amber off the reflecter housing when not in use. Now my DRLs match everything and I see more, and further. Post #1028, only look at @Parker315 ’s list that references the word “new” or “current” in his parts list. That is the same setup I’m running.

As far as passenger side touch to entry mod, it’s a hack thanks to @Victory that figured it out and provided instructions on what to buy and how to do it here:

I wonder if the snorkel will look a lot better/more natural when people start throwing Prinsu or Gobi racks on the roof. It could make the snorkel look less goofy since it won't like like a periscope sticking up so high above the roofline.

    Disagree...

An OR with a decent aftermarket suspension that increases lift or Premium OEM wheels and bigger tires will resell higher. Also, I have recouped some money from selling my OEM OR parts to Sport and SR5 owners. They weren't extra savvy...they just knew the trim levels.

The "OR" trim is a proven trim wereas the "Pro" trim's worthiness continues to be debated.

I have always thought that the Pro is for folk who do not plan on modding their truck. Once it's modded with a suspension, tires, etc then it's just a Pro badged Taco. Years from now the only true difference in resale value will only occur if Toyota makes it truly stand apart with a better engine or more HP.

4 months and still nothing? I would go elsewhere for my fabricated parts.

More advice from an OR owner on my Pro....
    Always accepted here bud!

Problem is, in Southern California those types of modded trucks you explain are a dime a dozen. Half of the people selling them think they are Mickey Thompson on the weekend and literally ruin their trucks. And frankly, they don’t have good taste. I’d never buy a heavily modded Tacoma, at any trim level. I see how much the OR parts I would sell off my Pro are selling for because I frequent the marketplace. They sell often, but not for much.

In regards to who buys the Pro...
This folk don’t plan on modding the suspension right away. I’d like to know my truck, and how capable the factory installed options work. Having a Fox suspension tuned specifically for my truck is pretty cool. With the knowledge I can gather in the next few years, I will know exactly what type of suspension I need out of warranty. I’d hate myself right now had I modded the suspension right off the bat. Armor is heavy, tastes change, and I really thought I knew more than I did. We all do.

My Pro, modded or not will have a lot of extra features the OR doesn’t have. And that I won’t need to pay for later. Rigid Fogs, Heritage grill, heated leather seats, blacked out light assembly front and rear, hood scoop (as non functional and aesthetic it is), and Pro badging will remain. I’m sure there are a few more items I’m forgetting. The other items, suspension etc. I can still sell for good money when I decide to upgrade. I already sold my wheels because the shiny Pro ones weren’t my bag.

Blue book will always be higher in the short term. Time will tell though.
Trade in will always be higher. Someone wrecks my truck, I’ll get more back. Not saying my choice was better or that OR is inferior somehow. I just chose to go with a factory package I can do more with now, instead of modding on my own before I really know my truck. This is my first Tacoma so I have a learning curve.

But I’ll say this, the Pro is proven to me as an awesome truck! Cannot wait to improve it. I wanted a Toyota pickup since I saw Back to the Future as a kid, and it’s really fun learning as much as I can from other members. Even OR owners that say I’m doing it wrong.

Have fun with that OR. Interested, what mods have you done with all that extra scratch you saved by not buying a Pro? Need some inspiration from the direction other members have taken.

I’ve upgraded to SCS Ray 10s w/ KO2s, installed Prinsu rack, WaterPort on the bed rails, had a local member fab my bed rack w/ spare tire holder, insane deal on my Tepui Rugged Kukenam at REI garage sale, pretty much every ME-SO lighting mod (dudes a beast), Rokblokz, AVS vent visors (priceless), ATH bed stiffener, TRD CAI (more noise, not much performance gain), and I have a few big additions waiting for when I recover from surgery (Molle backseat storage, $250 audio upgrade here on TW, bolt on sliders and full set of skids). Future plans are hidden front recovery, HC rear bumper, exhaust reroute and dump, exterior lighting (not sure yet) and 3” lift w/ 33s. Yes... I have a problem :D

I’m paid up. Parts are being put on a pallet tomorrow. I know I know.... but from what I understand it was an issue related to powder coat company losing power and parts being stuck in limbo. Not optimal, but definitely leaning local for the rest of my armor. Hoping the quality is worth the the wait though!

Cant take your post seriously as you think you're offroad is better than sport SAME trim level dude! Pro stock is a better truck then the offroad and sport. But you can upgrade both to make them better, but since the pro has a higher msrp it will always have a higher resale. Just like buying name brand electronics, sure you can build your own, but no one wants your basement monster

I don’t know about everybody else...
But I did my homework. My girl even printed me out spreadsheets to compare models, prices, mod costs etc. before I bought. So I know what it would have cost me to mod an OR vs. buying a PRO.

Good luck. With a wait that long it should be satisfying to get them. Post pics when installed.

^Dealer can sell higher than sticker of course. Usually they give a less offensive term like "market adjustment". Happened before with the Ford Raptor and earlier with the Honda S2000.
If you use Toyota's online lease calculator and do a mock 3-year lease, is the lease residual higher on the TRD Pro than on the OR? That forecast retained value done by Toyota's bookies is as good as any.

    I never considered a lease.
But I remember new 2017 Pros selling at MSRP when I bought my 2018 at MSRP. That’s a 1 year forecast that’s pretty good. Pro or not, I know Tacoma’s dip 15% in value once you drive off the lot.
