This should point you in the right direction. Otherwise you will want to tap into a power source that is linked with the DRL/lights depending on what look you are going for. Let me know if you have any questions but there should be some easy access in the stock hood fusebox.

Edit: I tied my switchpro into a light-linked power source in the cab so the backlight would dim appropriately with my dash lights. You could do that, but I would recommend looking under the hood first to avoid excess trips through the firewall. Worst case ontario you can presumably tie it into the DRL hot lead in the actual headlight, I suppose.

What are your thoughts on the Solo Tank Monitor with External Sensors? Also, what are you planning to go with for your setup?

    Spare Tire Ear Removal

In preparation for mounting my water tank, I decided to remove the spare tire ears so it can sit flush to the crossmembers.

Next on my list is to figure out how exactly I would like to mount my water tank underneath. I’m actually contemplating getting the bed of my truck’s rear frame rails boxed/plated, which actually removes the OEM Crossmembers. Then I could mount my water tank even higher and directly to the bed of the truck. Stock trucks have a thin crossmember under the bed that the spare tire attaches to as you can see. To install the frame plates, that crossmember gets cut out and removed, the frame plates are installed and then a beefier crossmember is made and put in. It stiffens up the rear part of the frame a lot. The spare is no longer mounted under the bed, which mine has already been removed.

For OBW? I think I am just going to go with a float-style measuring device and fuel/water tank gauge. It shouldn't be as affected by the movement of the truck seeing as it's mounted normal to the water surface and I don't need to see EXACTLY how much water is in there...

I also considered something like this:https://www.adafruit.com/product/464

but it would likely require a microcontroller/other digital system to get working. If I end up doing any sort of tank heating system I'll probably go with that last idea.

What adhesive did you end up using?

I was going to perform my install in this fashion instead of removing half the dashboard like in the other write ups. Nice to see it worked for you!!

On my 2017, only have the ECT PWR, USB and 12V (might make the change to the Blue Sea as it looks great on yours!). Finally managed to order some CH4x4 switches where shipping didn't cost me hundreds of dollars. Thing is, most of them won't be connected to anything for 6-18 months as I build the truck on a budget (yay!! single parenthood!).

Big concern for me is taking the traction control from the overhead console and relocating it down to the lower centre console.
