Amazon fake. It does have some imperfections, but overall I think it looks better than the stock. Plus it's a much cheaper option than the TRD Pro.

The 33’s I have are certainly heavy. Weighed the tires and they alone are around 65 lbs, so I’m guessing after being mounted, the tire nd rim combo will be upwards of 100 pounds. They will rub slightly but nothing a little trimming can’t fix.

I like my SR5 grill. I removed the chrome emblem and the chrome bezel and painted both of them white to match my truck, however the paint got chipped when a rock hit my truck and I don’t feel like respraying it. From what I read in Amazon, the grill comes with the letter detached, so I will likely paint them white also to match my truck.

The SR5 and plasti-dip Off Road both look OK. I just had to have the Pro fake. Yes, you put the letters on. I'm guessing that's to avoid any trademark issues.

After my tires are installed I think the next purchase will be a new grill.

So, just to be clear (no confusion), you got 255/85/16s on a stock suspension with no rubbing?

Thanks! Yes, get the clean sensor warning and shuts off. But...not all the time. When I switched out to the fake Pro grill I had a similar issue and after a few weeks, it stayed on. Since I put on the Warn semi hidden bumper, it's more frequent. I'll give it another week or two and just turn it off. I really like the blind spot monitoring and backup camera, I never use speed control and have no use for the TSS so, for me, it's not a loss.

That is correct - 255/85/16 on stock suspension, uca and TRD Off Road rims absolutely no rubbing. After reading some of the comments on another thread where some people had issues with rubbing after lifting, I was concerned. I went with the OME complete kit with light racing UCA and there doesn't appear to be any issues after driving on various terrain including off camber hill climbing, speed bumps, tight turns, etc. The factory rim and narrow width of the tire are what make it work. Unfortunately, that means I'm stuck with the factory rim since that width and offset in a custom rim appear to be rare or nonexistent.

Man, thank you! I have the SR5 with 25mm offset on the wheels. What is the offset on yours?

    Update: Just found this resource:
    https://www.hubcaphaven.com/c/503/toyota_tacoma_wheels_rims.html
By the pictures you posted it looks like you have ALY75189, so 25mm offset.

I was going to get fuel vapors 18x9 with -24 offset or so. Anyone run something similar with ridgegrapplers and know if they run? 275/70r18

Has anyone had any issues with running 33’s? My truck almost seems to have less traction than before with my worn out tires. It’s been sprinkling here for a few days so the roads are wet but no puddles, but when turning into parking lots it feels to me like the ass end is sliding a little bit, and I went to a vacant parking lot and got up to maybe 15mph and used about 80% of the brakes and the rear tires locked up, again never happened with my old tires. Does it have something to do with the extra weight? When accelerating in the same parking lot, the rear tires also spun, whereas before in the same lot I would of had to had the truck at near full lock and then use nearly all throttle just to get the tires to chirp a little bit.

When taking u-turns, my traction control light also turns on, I’m assuming this is because off the larger tire size throwing off the “standard” that the computer looks for.

I went with the 886 coils and firm struts. I couldn't be happier with my selection. I don't feel the ride is harsh, feels much more planted than stock. Plus, it looks great.

It has nothing to do with calibrations. your tires aren't gripping. Your stock tires were load range c, what load range did you get with the new ones? I'm assuming you got E... this is a stiffer tire and requires significantly more air pressure to run properly which will effectively reduce traction. Check your pressures, do a chalk test (google). Could also be that your new tires suck in the rain...

It’s just a 3” spacer lift up front and a 2” block in the rear. This spring I’m going to start building the engine in my car, after that project is done I’m going to put a “proper” lift on my truck.
