How to hide GoPro USB cable

So I took advantage of the GoPro mount for my 2018 TRD Offroad and got a good deal on a Hero 5 black. My question is does anyone know the best way to run the USB to the GoPro so the cable is hidden? I want to keep the GoPro charging...I've seen some videos on hard wiring dash cams but if I can find a way to just hide the USB into the trim and out next to the USB charger on the dash I would be happy with that.

and tucked it up into the over head console area where I spliced it into the rear view mirror dimmer/compass wiring.

Nice im going to try this.... the HERO 5 has the new USB C so I purchased the female end so I can just use the plug that came with the go pro..... how did you splice it? solder? does it just tuck into the same conectors ? I see the guy on the thread used a Mirror Tap?

 

Was going to solder it, and almost went with the taps like the picture, but in the end decided to use Posi-Taps inside the headliner area. I then secured the small power converter and wiring using some double stick foam (the kind used for windows/doors) to prevent any rattles/noise.

 

Get a fuse tap. Run the wire along the headliner and then down the A pillar to the fuse box. Takes 10 minutes.

 

This is a great idea.

 

Will the A pillar routing possibly interfere with the airbag?

 

I use the power port in the center console. Ran the cable through the bottom and along the passenger side of the console, under the front edge of the carpet, and then up the A pillar. Follow the routing of the existing wiring in the A pillar so as not to interfere with the side air bag (pull the trim panel, 10mm X2 on the grab handle).

As stated, I think it’s good advice to follow the existing wire routing and do it carefully in regards to the airbag.

I ran my USB cable in the headliner, down the passenger a pillar trim, through the dash, under the carpet and have it plugged into the cig lighter port.
