Lol that's what keeping me here as well but I been promised 6 weeks of paid vacation next year cause I been pulling 6 days a week 16-18 hour shifts for the last 4-5 months. I'm the only one doing that to. One lady told me about her 4 day weekend trip. I just looked at her and said"what makes you think that I care about it? I been here for 6 day weeks for 4 months." Kinda see why people put a "stay away" sign on my office door lol

Disposal of dangerous chemicals. I'm a team leader of 4 guys. Everytime a hazmat brings stuff back we dispose of it into a non-hazardous product and ship it to the original manufacturer. Most of the stuff I deal with can kill in seconds. I'm probably the easiest team leader out of the 3 shifts. Work at a safe pace, a 10 minute break every hour.

pay determines what room we are in. The normal one is the "green" room mostly harmless stuff like rubbing alcohol and such. But the "black" room is triple pay. And it's not worth it when you're on the other shifts I feel bad for those guys. No breaks other than lunch and half the time they injured themselves. We move alot of 55 gallon barrels and back injuries are common. To me when one of my guys get hurt everyone leaves till it's taken care of. I don't risk anything no matter how minor. I don't want to write a letter to the loved ones saying there was an accident.

There’s “The Crucible” in Oakland for weekend welding classes. I’ll be at SF State so I’m just over the bridge.
