So I'm in the middle of installing the Stoptech BBK kit with 323mm rotors. I have everything apart and am stuck here at the trimming dust cover, or installing hub shims. The included instructions are ok, but not very detailed. It just says to trim whatever is hitting the rotor, or install shim and tighten bolt to factory specs (which would be?)

I've bent the dust cover back some, and mocked up the rotor, and it does still run in places. Honestly, it seems I could trim the entire dust cover and it might still rub. But it also says 4x4 models may require a special tool to remove the hub, which I don't know what that is, so I'm sure I don't have it.

Has anyone else installed this kit and have some advice?

This is on a 2014, if that makes any difference.

they are talking about removing the wheel bearing with the 21mm nut and 4 17 mm bolts to get to the dust cover. I have the lexus big brake conversion not yet installed. I ordered the dust covers from the parts list it is shaped different to clear the bigger lexus calipers.

I’m doing it as we speak. I’d replace the dust cover with the included shim. That’s what I did and worked out great. Make sure and check that you have a 36mm wrench. Now onto changing my brake lines...

This guy did a nice write up.

Thanks. I didn't fully understand the instructions. But I've chopped the dust cover to hell, and the rotor spins freely now. I'll be ordering the 4runner dust covers and will install those at a later date.
