I have the OVTune and love it. I have had it for at least six months. Since I got it Matt has released two upgrades with another one in development. It just keeps getting better. I could NEVER go back to the stock tune.

 

What does the tune accomplish? Just wondering

Need some help/advice... Yesterday evening the father-in-law called me ups and asked me to build him an access ramp for inside of his garage. I am NOT a carpenter, and I would hate to slap together something that would get him hurt.

Here are the requirements... He has hip/knee problems, and barely can get around. On top of that he is about 350 lbs (down from 400). He wants a ramp from these CURVED steps:

down to the floor. Total drop is roughly 18". He needs hand rails.

Based on my calculations, the ramp will need to be roughly 10 feet long. It will need to just sit on the floor/steps as he doesn't want it to be a permanent fixture.

My initial thought was to lay 3/4" plywood on the landing allowing it to "square" the steps, supported on/over the steps on by screwing the plywood to appropriate length 4x4s, which would allow me to have a non-curved edge to work from. BUT... That would mean the mother-in-law would no longer be able to park her car in the garage, as that would add a couple of feet to the total length.

And... frankly I'm not sure how to deal with the hand rails.

Any carpenters have any advice?

What time are you headed there? I actually got locked into dinner plans by the lady tonight. I can meet you or grab them a different day. Otherwise, you can hand them off to someone else that goes.

 

So the lady wants a 4Runner and Im gonna try and get her to buy an OR Premium so that when its time for her to get a new ride again, i can keep it.
